Agreed, I think you can more than try it you can enjoy it and not think twice about it. We get a little over analytical now a days when we can read so many reviews and comments. Chances are if weight was not something you ever thought with a mouse until you saw someone comment on it, it wouldn't matter now. There will always be compromises with a mouse and what matters most is what matters to YOU. Eg. for me the overall shape and button placement are much higher priority than weight, particularly multiple key by my pointer for melee. Wireless and battery life is also a plus with my desk setup. This all makes me more comfortable and focused, that makes be better and more reactive in game. Could weight help sure, but not more that those other things combined, especially thing that matter to the individual. Shaving oz off mouse weight seems like that type of thing that would only make an appreciable difference if you're in a very top tier, likely not those who consider a $35 mouse.

So don't let a broad statement like "bad for FPS" sidetrack your evaluation of what YOU desire and would make you happy while gaming.

PS: If I had to play FPS with an old unclean rollerball mouse I'd still enjoy it!

I would not advise it for FPS but it is comfy. Quite the chonky boi when equipped with batteries, even if you lower the weight with a AA to AAA. I got one last time and plan to use it with an MMO.

Be aware, these are being phased out. I imagine support will still be there for a good while, I just know some folks don't like to get into something if they think it will not be there later.

Any idea if they are coming out with a newer model, or if this is the end of the line? It's a strange mouse- not enough buttons for MMO, and apparently not good enough for FPS; not many mice like it. I've been using the 602/604 for ages and worry I won't be able to find a replacement one day. I like the extra buttons on the side to map some macros for work, looks discrete enough to be in an office too. Kind of a jack of all trades, master of none.

Just wondering why you'd advice against it for FPS? I'm just starting to get into those; this is really the only gaming mouse I've owned.

I agree with you, the weight on this thing is really high for any fast paced FPS gaming, or really any Esports titles.

I just bought this yesterday and it arrived today. I love it so far! I bought for my work laptop - any ideas on how to reprogram the side buttons? Or do I need to install logitech software to change? If not, its fine - i just don't think I would be allowed to install it on my work laptop.

I'll say that I picked this mouse up recently and do not like it.

There are six little buttons placed near the thumb area that are quite hard and protrude out. With the way my thumb naturally rests on the mouse it constantly scrapes against them and feels very uncomfortable and I have to consciously move my thumb down a half-centimeter or so to avoid this, but it's not something that I have a natural instinct to do.

It was cheap enough to essentially be a "whatever" but I wouldn't have purchased this even at this price should I have known.

I have the G305 and it's fantastic. It's a lower profile then this one.
