Just note, this isn't the 1080p Chromecast with Google TV. That has Android TV built into it, like a standard streaming box. This is the old style Chromecast, that you have to "cast" to from your phone, etc.
Does this require you to be on same Wi-Fi network to cast? Some hotels block "discoverable" devices in order for you to cast. Looking to buy specifically for hotel use when traveling to stream my plex library.

That's bad.
Man people really complain about everything. Just another option, not everyone wants a remote control and a home user interface where they get ads delivered to you constantly.
You can just use your phone as a remote control. I got one for free with my YouTube prime membership and I stick it on the back of my ultra wide monitor. It's nice. I can put a fireplace from YouTube video as I'll be in background noise and just cast it to my ultra wide or a lava lamp. Or I can just watch videos directly from my phone but cast it to the ultra wide without having to fiddle through an ad filled user interface.
There are advantages to having a remote, and I have a fire cube and an Android TV with remote controls. But it's just a matter of preference.
