You'll definitely get better CPU performance but will be stuck with Intel Iris Xe 96EU graphics which is significantly slower than the RDNA 2 based Raseon 680M graphics. On top of that, in this one, you can add an external GPU using the USB4 port whereas the other model you've referred, doesn't even have a USB4/Thunderbolt 4 port. Check the detailed specification. So, there is no normal way of adding any thunderbolt accessories or external GPU unless you want to go with some DIY methods of using M.2 to PCIe X16 converter, separate PSU to power the GPU and loosing the capability of using any PCIe SSD.

Note: Although the USB4 port is mentioned to be 20Gbps one, it is actually a full 40 Gbps Port and has been tested with external GPU docks. YouTuber ETA Prime has already tested this model.

Ecosystem that charges exorbitant money for extra memory/storage and does not allow users to upgrade those on their own, okay!

They're around. But a lot of them have one issue or another. The Chuwi rzbox is an example. 5800h, two sodimm slots, two nvme slots, two 1gbit ethernet ports. But the cpu overheats if you push it, inadequate cooling.

Check out the site/youtuber "servethehome". They cover a lot of multiple NIC mini pc's/network appliances. Quite a bit of interesting stuff coming out that's a lot lower priced than it was just a year ago.
I have an ASRock 4x4 4800U with an 8C Ryzen7 that has dual NICs. One a 1GbE and the other a 2.5GbE adapter. I got the first one of them a couple of years ago, when Linux support was still not fully there. I'm running Ubuntu 22.04 LTS on it and using it a Plex Media Server and Omada SDN controller and it works very well. I never hear the fan on it and it's never even warm to the touch. I have both NVMe and 2.5" SSD in it, but access the media off a NAS device and I have it running 32 GB RAM.

So there are a number of multi-Nic mini PCs out there. Lenovo even had one that had a riser card that support a quad 1GbE NIC option that I was looking at as a Zeek box.

There are Linux alternatives for those Windows programs you mentioned and best of all, they're free and open source. LibreOffice replaces Microsoft Office and is just as good. As for Adobe programs, they pose a security risk and are useless in my opinion.
they arent as good at all whatsoever that's a complete myth. But if they work for you that's fine

Looks cool but I'll put that money towards mac mini

After telling me my 5 year old i7 quad with 32gb ram is unable to upgrade to windows 11, that put me in a f Windows going forward mood.

Went from Android to IOS after the fiasco with Pixel 6 pro, just moving into an ecosystem that updates hardware longer since I tend to keep my devices longer.
Someone who is so stingy that they got angry their 5 year old PC didn't get a new windows upgrade jumping into an badge premium ecosystem that is predominantly fueled by the loyal sheep? Enjoy.

I can't update with my 7th Gen CPU, so i'm going to switch to even more restrictive upgrade path Applause

If you would have to buy a new system anyhow… I get people like to hate on Apple, but they must use their devices more than they realize. This'll be my 4th year with an iPhone 11 Pro, only reason I would upgrade it is if they finally use USB C in the new ones this year. Otherwise I'll still have several years of life left in it. I also still have a PowerBook G4 and PowerMac G5 that work just fine. PowerBook still has a battery that holds about 2 hours of charge despite being 20-ish years old. People can use what works best for them, there's solid track records for performance and real stinkers of track records depending on when and where you look.

not entirely sure, my limited experience with Hackintosh is upgrading a 2014 mbp to Ventura. Everything works with no issues
Using unsupported macOS on older MacBook is not called a Hackintosh, by popular Internet terminology. For example, if you ask about your old MacBook in a Hackintosh forum, you'll get looked down upon. Legally speaking there is a difference as well, because running macOS on MacBook does not break the ToS.

Ok this thread has gone into derailment. My questions are simple.

If I hook up an external GPU to this thing, will I be able to play games at 120Hz or more?

If you don't need the performance, but just want a tiny PC, go ahead and buy one of the many thin client PC's off of Ebay or elsewhere for $50 - $80.

I did this, upgraded the ram, added a SSD, then installed Linux Mint, which runs on Ubuntu, but has a user experience that is pretty close to Windows. I use this on my desk at work, I've added an old scanner that no longer worked in the most recent version of Windows, and I'm really happy with it. Total cost was about $150.
