I got one too and have had no issues... Best laptop I've ever owned honestly and my first MSI... Sorry to hear of your bad experience

I mean, it's a gaming laptop. I never recommend a laptop if the primary use is gaming. I will say specs for the price look pretty good. 16GB ddr4 at 3200. Only 512GB nvme, but can be upgraded. I would say this is a good deal, but once again if the main intent is gaming, buy a PC. If you need a laptop for "reasons" go for it.
The recommendation for video editing is 32GB to handle the programs. I am not an expert since I do not do any video editing but from what I hear, 32GB is the sweet spot, and this only has 16. And once again my advice is never go laptop for gaming. I would only say get a laptop if gaming is like 25-30% of its purpose and the rest is for editing and maybe like work purposes. Yes it is sometimes cool to game and be able to take the hardware with you, but I can speak from experience, a PC is a much better option. With all that said I am not you, so your life might require you to travel or something so it might make more sense. Also note a 3050 ti is low end last gen graphics so new games even at 1080 might be meh
