Seems likely that applies here. It sucks to run to the hardware store and pay more for a few bolts, but not as bad as doing the job twice.
got this last time. They aren't high quality but its a good set to have around when you need screws/bolts/nuts
Can confirm, I also have this set. You wouldn't be nuts to pass this up, but you won't be screwed if you do get one. I wouldn't bolt to the store to pick up this deal, but if you're at Lowes, it might be good to have around just in case.

Bought this kit on a previous deal. Yes they are honestly bad quality, no discussion needed. Don't buy it to use on any decent project. I keep it in my trunk though and love having the misc hardware when I'm out and about. Particularly when at the in-law's or something and the alternative is looking for two similar-sized screws inside a 1980s cigar box. So I'll get another once I'm out of the most commonly used parts.

How about a 650-piece kit for $20 that's twice the quality? I'd buy that.

Nice to have a wide selection ready to go when you need them, but not if they are truly junk fasteners.

Bought it last time. Very cheap made, not good for strong or durable job.

I have these, they are well worth $20. I have yet to have a head snap off as some others have complained about. If you are worried about the head snapping off use your drill to drill a pilot hole first and then use your impact driver to drive these in (which you should be doing anyway)

If you are going to build a deck -> don't use these.

If you need the odd screw to fix something that broke -> these are fine for that

I've got about this much from different things I've disassembled or had to swap out. I have one of those big parts cubbies that's full and several other containers and bags, but I still never have enough. These are more likely to snap under pressure if tightened. The box is the appealing thing for me. I wouldn't mind buying a bulk set of quality nuts and bolts, but I don't know if these are worth it for anyone. I definitely wouldn't use these outside, because they're not galvanized, stainless steel or hardened metal. I wouldn't use them on cabinets. Maybe for science class or something where you just can't afford to buy quality in bulk. If you've ever stripped the head off a bolt, you'll understand how frustrating it is. Even most bolts that come with products you buy are garbage. I have fog lights with hardware that starts to rust, and they know it's meant to be on a truck, let alone my small car on the back of the hood. Anyway, just realize you could potentially snap these with hand tools. Do not use these to hold anything structural with, like the people I see screwing furring strips to their bus sheet metal to hold their bed platform up!

Price caught my attention but caution rules the day, at least for now. I viewed the previous thread and found one comment that hit home:

I've bought Bulldog fasteners before. They're made of Grade 2 CNSI Chinesium. I can't imagine ever paying actual money for them again... at any price.

Several years ago, I purchased some GE under the cabinet lights. The lights were good but the included wood screws to mount were worthless. Even after drilling pilot holes into the cabinets, i unable to mount the lights because steel in the screws was so soft they would round out with minimal torque. I didn't think it was possible to mess up / chintz out something as basic and simple as a screw but the Chinese did it! "Grade 2 CNSI Chinesium".

Don't buy it!!!! OMG!! You know the labels you try to peel off, but they come in pieces, leaving white paper that you have to scrape loose with a razor, yet there's still a residue. This has that type of label, but it is 6" tall and wraps around the entire thing. Where all those cases "separate"? The label spans all of that. I started peeling it off, realized what I was getting into, and returned it.
You bought these for the wrong reason if you are concerned about the sticker

Answering my own question after a bit of research. The overall recommendation I came across was to just build a collection overtime. But I'd rather avoid all these trips to HD. So I found bolt depot has sets in various qualities of metal. Stuff gets expensive for the high end stuff https://www.boltdepot.com/Browse....ating=Zinc

Not anywhere close to the price on this $20 garbage quality set. But at work I have a set like this in the nice metal box and they come in handy all the time and are good quality:

This always catches my eye until I remember the comments. I'd probably be better off buying the $21 thread and nut checker to organize what I already have laying around.

Bought it last time. Used in a handful of projects. Don't get the hate. It's $20. Good enough to attach PCB to a box for running my permanent LED lights. Attached some casters to the bottom of my harbor freight fan. Not sure what people are expecting from a cheap set, wouldn't use it for anything structural.

I got about 25 old metal drawers passed down from my grandfather filled with any random nut, bolt, washer, screw, or nail I'll ever need. I wish I could tell him how many trips to the hardware store he saved me. I also wish I could tell him that he saved me from buying this.
