From MicroCenter email received today:
Free 16GB DDR5-5600 with purchase of a Ryzen 5 7600X series processor
Free 32GB DDR5-6000 with purchase of any Ryzen (7 or 9) 7000 series process

I don't have a URL to this promo but am attaching a screenshot of it. Clicking the URL in the email directs me to MicroCenter's Build and Save (CPU/Motherboard) combos

Note: this is in store only and while supplies last. I don't have a MicroCenter nearby so please send thumbs up for sharing and if you find this beneficial.

Do you have any benchmarks or reference to show the value difference? I'm honestly on the fence between the two choices and wondering if the performance is worth the 7700x and more RAM.
There is a pretty decent performance hit for using only 1 stick of RAM. Like, a greater performance hit than going down to the 7600X from the 7700X in many cases. That makes the 7700X with 32GB a no brainer. The 7600X bundle is weird for that reason — makes absolutely no sense to buy a CPU like this and then cripple it by not adding a second stick.

Ever since CompUSA went bust, we haven't had a big computer store in our town. Thankfully, there are 3 Micro Center stores in our state, and 2 of them are just a bit over 1 hour away in two different directions. While I probably wouldn't make a trip just to go to Micro Center, I often make an excuse to stop at the store if I'm driving by already.
Being 20 miles away from the Silicon Forest, I can't figure out how Best Buy is the only computer parts store in my area. Used to be a few good ones but they have all closed up shop. Seems more like a silicon desert.

I down vote every single one of them. No need for them to be front page.

If you're starting from scratch, this deal or the $50 motherboard deal with in intel better?
It depends on your priorities with your system. Intel is offering a better upfront price/value. But If you plan to hold onto your build for 5+ years and want the option of a drop-in CPU upgrade in the future then you will want AM5.

Personally speaking I thought that value proposition made AM5 the easy choice, I'm tired of 2-year forced obsolescence on Intel's platforms, and a new CPU in five years is way cheaper than a new rig. But not everyone agrees, some just want the upfront cost savings.

I have to agree with the other posts though, the 7700X+32GB offer is better value with better performance. Microcenter keeps changing the freebies, it used to be two 8GB sticks. But a single 16GB stick is going to hurt performance, these processors are dual channel and designed for two module operation. With the 7700X deal the memory is upgraded to a proper 6000 rating as well.

This is the sort of thing that really makes me believe that there is a glut of computer hardware on the market - throwing in free stuff if you buy other stuff - haven't seen that in years......
Speaking of things not seen in years... Wave

Be nice if amazon matched these deals... no more B&M exclusivity. Better yet Walmart mini computer stores knocking BB down a few pegs too
