These are good drives but they are noisy since its designed for enterprise use.

Not as familiar with Seagate as WD, but if these are a true enterprise drive this seems like a great price. Especially for someone looking to fill a NAS or NVR. If I needed more I'd look really hard at this deal.

Exactly what I am doing. I have 2 10TB drives and I wanted to upgrade. I waited months for this deal. I was about to pull the trigger on a pair for $579 on Amazon and I just checked Newegg one last time. So glad I did.

Do you have any of these? I have 2 and they are not loud at all. I don't hear any addition noise over 5400RPM consumer WD red and white drives.

Interesting. Are your drives mounted on rubber grommets or are they hard mounted to the case. Just wondering if our setups are very different. Do you have really low fan noise?

I had all kinds of drives including the exos here and the reds. These are by far LOUDEST DRIVES I EVER HAD! I absolutely would NOT recommend in a nas that's in your bedroom or living room. Not worth the money. But if you have a rack in the basement the. Why not.

PS I had the exact model listed here 18tb x18. Awful noise. Went right back where they came from.

I got 2 of these drives and while you can't really hear them spinning if in a good case with rubber grommets (I'm looking at you Corsair with your grommetless cases), but it's the seek noises that are noticeably louder than my other NAS WD Red/white drives.

You must have super-human hearing (or a knack for exaggerating) because like the other users, I have a couple of these and they absolutely do not sound as you describe.

And contrary to what Kaveman42 thinks, enterprise models aren't automatically loud. The same is true for 7200rpm.
