Do you have any of these? I have 2 and they are not loud at all. I don't hear any addition noise over 5400RPM consumer WD red and white drives.

Interesting. Are your drives mounted on rubber grommets or are they hard mounted to the case. Just wondering if our setups are very different. Do you have really low fan noise?
I had all kinds of drives including the exos here and the reds. These are by far LOUDEST DRIVES I EVER HAD! I absolutely would NOT recommend in a nas that's in your bedroom or living room. Not worth the money. But if you have a rack in the basement the. Why not.

And contrary to what Kaveman42 thinks, enterprise models aren't automatically loud. The same is true for 7200rpm.
