Sorry but that is not entirely true. After activating new phone sim with Google Fi, as long as you don't insert the Google Fi sim in a "different phone", you are fine. Most, like myself, simply tossed the Google Fi sim in a drawer and no problems getting the $500. Using a different carriers sim in the S22 the entire time.

FakeBro, stop spreading Fake information. This is 100% not true. In the last 3-4 months, I purchased 3 Fold4 and all were just activated on the device and now the sim is seating in the drawer, and never got a chargeback. And one device has already crossed the qualification period and the other 2 will complete their qualification window in 12-15 days.

Just an FYI on obtaining a valid cell number to port. I posted this earlier on in the thread but seems to have been overlooked by many as this is a long thread.

I ordered the five dollar per month plan on hello mobile website. It includes talk text and 500 MB data. Free sim and taxes included. The account number for porting is given to you in an email and you can see it as well by logging into your account online, no need to use their app. The porting pin is the last four digits of your phone number, I confirmed that with customer service. Hope this helps some here who need a valid phone number to port and do not want to take any risk with GV numbers as things may have changed this year.

And bonus, the five dollar hello mobile plan second month is free. No coupon code or referral required. This comes in handy just in case the delivery date keeps getting pushed back by Google Fi.

How do you know when you become an existing customer? I've seen others say you need to wait 48-hours to be fully activated, but I've already received an email from Fi stating that my account is now activated, and I have been able to make and receive calls.
That means you already had a Google Fi Sim, that you did not mention in your previous post, so you should be good to go now.
Also, check your Google Fi account, and you probably should contact Google Fi support thru chat to verify your account status and be on the safe side.

I actually purchased the sim card this morning at Target. Phone was activated in about an hour with my old T-Mobile OnePlus 6T. Thanks for the help!

I mean, I ran my google voice number through Google Fi's own verification and used that. My phone won't be here until March. That's the number I plan on porting over, and the number I am using to do this deal with.

If they really tried to pull a fast one and charge me down the line, I will ship the phone back and do a chargeback through my CC.
Most people here would rather avoid pain and locking horns with Google Fi for a few dollars more.
But, this is a FREE Country with Freedom of Choice!!!

Anyone else seeing $50 per month for 24 months when financing the device? How will the promotion work as I thought it will be $25 per month for 24 months.

Unbelievable. After getting charged on 2/4 and reverse charged on 2/11, my cc was fraudulently used on 2/14 and had to be canceled. Google cannot change the charge method. Fi CS says to cancel and reorder.

Am long driving. Is the Ultra OOS? Are trade-ins no longer the same amount?

Damn it.

Try plugging your order number into the Fedex system (put it in the "reference number" section for advanced tracking, it's not a tracking number).

My Google order # says Mar 1-8 but the Fedex page says it's been received and is "pending".

Yeah I used that. It worked for me before, doesn't seem to be working anymore unfortunately.
Mine is also not working at the Fedex site.
Probably because Fedex hasn't received anything yet from Google Fi.
Will try again after the 16th.

It worked perfectly with the Samsung orders in the past few years.

I always buy these generic ones https://www.amazon.com/imluckies-S23-Shockproof-Protective-Protection/dp/B0BP1ZZX99/ref=sr_1_4?crid=... [amazon.com]

Like having my camera lens untouched and clean for photos. Surface is a bit slick so shouldn't leave on slippery curved surfaces.

The trade in value has gone down significantly.
This will likely ship with an eSIM instead of physical sim, which means it cannot be gifted.
No longer looks like a deal unfortunately. Will have to see if Samsung will raise their trade in value.
If it's an eSim then the phone has zero value to me. The whole purpose of me buying this for $600+$60tax+4*$24 monthly = $760 is to TAKE THE FI SIM OUT on Day 2 and the the phone with my current much cheaper carrier. With an eSim I can't take the farm Google Fi sim out. It's soldiered in.

Fk Apple for starting this eSim big brother thing. I hate it.

Take the tinfoil hat off. You can delete esims. It's a non issue.

Trade-ins are different...They do have Ultra's in stock.

You are in a bind if doing a trade in. I would probably gamble on them hopefully coming back and asking for another credit card on that order? You won't get the same trade in as of now.
