Does anyone have any experience with these or the brand for a computer headset?

They work. You need an amp for them and the build quality is questionable. They do sound very good though.

I use a pair by HIFIMAN (not this one but similar) at my computer daily. They sound excellent.

But they aren't a generic headset, they are more audiophile headphones. For example, you will need a separate audio amplifier to properly run these.

Hifiman has been the pinnacle of audiophile headphones for years, Keep in mind this is the same company that also makes the HiFiMan Shangri-La SR headphone system that costs over $50K. About 15 years ago the technology from these headphones would have cost about $300-800, and headphone technology & sound never goes dated, we just have much cheaper planar technology now that major companies still haven't bothered to adopt because its too good for traditional consumers to take advantage of.

+1 for an external amp, and I tried these without the Amp for many months.

I have these for over one+ year and always went back to X2H4 (even with harsh treble) when I was using my PC's onboard jack. My phone (s10) also did not make these shine though played my X2HR nicely.

But they really opened up with an external amp and are my daily work headphones for past 3+ months since I bought the amp.

For reference, new 159$ at drop, the xx versions are drop collaborations that usually offer some value (tuning, price) over the original.

I wonder how these would work with a playstation controller and external mic?

It's a pretty good brand, quality and build. I have the Hifiman Sundara, if you're going to connect these to your phone you'll need a amplifier DAC (digital analogue converter), They have them for Android and iPhones. Check out YouTube for reviews, they come in different prices ($10-$500+) and different preset configurations. I have a THX DAC pushing mine it's USB type C, it's a solid combo for me. I'm no audiophile but you can really hear a difference once you start getting into high quality audio.

Is it normal for the DROP + HIFIMAN HE-X4 to sound nasal to me? I am using a headphone Dac/amp.
