To answer the inevitable: Yes, it works with PS5.
According to research, SSD price will be dropping further in 2023.
As with any computer component, YMMV.
However, I have an SN850X in my Asus TUF Gaming X570-Plus Wifi and it works perfectly fine as a PCI-e 4.0 drive.
Crystaldiskmark SEQ1M Q8T1 is Read: 7313 MB/S and Write is 6656 MB/s.
Idle temps run 47 C with a heatsink, which I definitely recommend as it can go up under load as most Gen 4 drives do.

Would this be a good option for an external drive for a Mac mini? Thinking about pairing with an enclosure

Pff I totally would lol.

I wonder if people legit use the newly arrived drive instead of just returning the newly ordered drive as the old one lol.

I'm the latter but I'm sure there are a bunch of people who would try to spin it around to make it sound immoral or illegal lol
Some of these invoices may have the serial numbers on them

Beware, I got this drive and tried to set it up on my X570 chipset motherboard and there is some issue with this SSD which makes it undetectable. I went through 2 drives before I searched it up and found this drive won't work with my motherboard.

Returning the new drive unopened is the right thing to do if you have to. Atleast it gets a second chance to get used. The old used ones may go to dump if they don't get sold again.

Did you format the ssd? If you didn't, it wouldn't work
