It beats it. This and the new Samsung 990 are top of the food chain now until Gen 5 ones come out.

Runs hot as read in reviews. Idle power is higher than Hynix and 980pro but not as much. I'll wait a bit more due to heat issues

How does this compare to the Samsung 980 pro with heat sink that is $200 at Best Buy?

Also if my mother board has a heat shield do you need heat sink? I am a bit confused on which is best for PC.

Best Buy has this for same price. Sold out of heat sink.

If mb has heat sink definitely no! Don't think it would even fit.

This is technically faster than 980p, but barely. Unless milliseconds matter in your work flow, go for cheaper.

Samsung software is best in class for PC.

I'd recommend this over 980p only if using for ps5

Fwiw same price as bf. Actually heatsink is $5 more now .

If you don't need it now, will see this price again every other month at most, especially with gen 5 in 2h 23

Thanks OP! Bought the SN850X 2Tb for the PS5. Looks like delivery is Jan 4-5.

Been looking into this for few days. Even though this SN850X does not have the Sony Stamp of approval looks like its upgraded or newer version of SN850.
Anyone have real life use experience with 850X?
