Metro will activate the SIM within 2 weeks of your delivery date, but I don't think it will automatically activate your phone/trigger the device's internal unlock counter. You have to install the SIM and turn on the phone for that. I noticed my phone's unlock date was exactly 181 days after I put my SIM into the phone and not when the SIM was activated two weeks prior, so it was a good thing I put it into my phone before the first month was over. Might've had to pay for another month and start the counter from there.

Can confirm that I only spent money on the first month and kept it in a drawer afterwards for exactly 180 days after my SIM activated, but it said I wasn't eligible for a unlock until about 2 weeks later after that (180 days after I finally turned the phone on with the SIM inside). Bought this phone back in June (with the deal at discounted price with first month, not this better deal at free with first month) and unlocked just about 2 weeks ago.

The unlock setting (built into the phone, not a separate app) gives a very distinct, red X with message saying that I didn't reach the requisite 180 days to unlock the device, but that message about the 180 days disappeared after waiting a few weeks longer and in its place was a link to try a 'permanent unlock', which worked.

I don't have the Moto G Stylus 2022 5G but I have the Moto G Stylus 2020. I just plugged in my Motorola Moto G Stylus 2020 with a 5 watt charger and also my Aukey dual charger (12w and 20w PD). My Moto G Stylus 2020 says "slow charging" with the 5 watt charger, "rapid charging" with the 12w and "turbo charging" with the 20w. My Moto G Stylus 2020 definitely has turbo charging and goes beyond the only 10 watt charging speed listed on gsmarena. Sometimes people are confusing the supplied charger as being the phone's max charging speed. When other phone companies aren't supplying any phone charger at all, Motorola is simply supplying a 10 watt charger (rapid charging) and not the turbo charger.

I think my Motorola (turbo charging) charges faster than my Pixel 6a (18 watt).
They used to ship Moto phones with rapid chargers either 18w or 20w. After the Moto G7 I think they stopped shipping with anything beyond 10w. Turbo charging is either 18w or 20w but all Stylus Moto's are capable of turbo charging. The Moto G Power 2020 was the last of the great Moto phones. Now you need a Stylus to equal the Moto G Power 2020. I have the Stylus 2021, and Stylus 5G 2021 as well as this OP Stylus. The screen on the 2022 looks much better than the 2021 and the 120hz refresh is pretty obvious to me.

I also have the Moto G Power 2020 as well. I like the Power 2020 a lot but I definitely prefer the Stylus 2020. The Power line has declined after that and been nerfed. People should just skip the Power line all together and just get the stylus line 5G or the Edge. For my use, I could happily use the Stylus line as a daily driver. Maybe try an Edge if it has an awesome deal. Phones really need to be under $300 sale for me to be really interested in.

Faster charge speed with this size battery will degrade battery life. There is no free lunch. For maximum battery life, re-charge at 40-50%, then remove charger around 80%. Set the alarm for 65 minutes to avoid overcharging.

Metro "needs"..lol. And with your many years in wireless sale/marketing I'm sure your opinion would be valuable to them..or not.
Facts are Apple supports their phones longer than any brand by far. I have a 6S that got another update last month and that from a phone released in 2015. Battery at 93% and built like a tank. I have a new SE2020 and a older Xr too and while I like android system a little better, these iPhones just keep rolling along. My experience with 5G is that it's not ready for prime time in many areas here in N California with dismal speeds.
All batteries age with time and use. A smaller battery will require frequent re-charge, which will further reduce battery life. Battery at 93% will quickly fall when placed under load.

If you don't like the way IOS manage your phone, that's too bad. A phone in battery saver mode will automatically switch out of this mode when battery capacity is above 80%. IOS assumes that you always have a battery with 100% of the original capacity.

In IOS, turning OFF WiFi and Bluetooth from the quick drop down menu does not kill these apps. You have to go into SETTINGS to disable these functions. One workaround solution is to create shortcuts on the home screen.

Newer OSes will always need more power and resources. But your phone is stuck with the old CPU and RAM. Performance will be slower with each new upgrade cycle.

Finally, software update can cause problem. I only update stuffs that no longer function properly. I still use windows XP. The user is the best security cop.

Yes, I tried that option multiple times, on multiple days before I called them. This is a good call out about this phone, customer service might ask you to look for the unlock app, but for this phone it is part of settings, and the app is not standalone and won't be visible like unlock app that you see on the Oneplus and nokia phones
Thanks - so if the phone can't be unlocked that way, what are the options? How else to unlock then?

Those who are relying on one person's experience about unlocking not occurring are becoming worry warts with very little information to go on.

The offshore Metro customer "service," if you can call it that (which is debatable), cannot be relied upon for providing correct information.

If it doesn't occur (which I doubt due to every other Metro handset I've ever bought unlocking around 180 days), you can still certainly sell it to a current Metro customer for more than $40.

I tried both 60 and 120, and didn't see any difference. Maybe it is because I mostly use things like Facebook and Gmail and stuff like that. What apps do you see the difference in? And what does the difference look like? I want to see it myself. Thanks.

Ever since I signed up for this I'm getting spammed with calls from T-mobile from ‪(844) 839-5060‬. Everyday! To my google voice. I marked them as spam and just now blocked the number... but still. I get horrible speeds on the moto 5g so there's no way I'm going to shell out for their hotspot.

Firmware for unlocking? There's no such thing.
