From a supposedly T-Mobile employee on Reddit, here is the latest update (5/1/2023) on Autopay discount:
Source:
https://www.reddit.com/r/tmobile/...ange_date/
The new autopay changes requiring a debit card or bank account to receive the discount goes into effect on May 18th.
EDIT: May 18th is for new and existing customers just enrolling in autopay
May 20th customers enrolled in autopay without debit card/back account/T-Mobile money will receive text messages over the next several months depending on bill cycle. They will receive a text message 30 days before their autopay discount is removed. Then a 15 day reminder, and again 3 days before. So the date for existing customers enrolled in autopay will vary from account to account.
Most reloadable cards are eligible for the autopay discount while non-reloadable are not and cannot be used for autopay.
Will update this post with more information as I get it.

For me, I was just getting the basic cash back on my credit card anyway, so I thought something was better than nothing. I ended up signing up for Verizon Visa card so that I didn't have to remember to keep buying gift cards.
Thank you, I don't know what this is, but I will look into it
Short term memory? Wonder why our so called intelligent law makers don't realize that?😜
Not much difference. DC doesn't have fraud protection as CC.
"majority of our customers use their bank account or debit card for AutoPay and will continue to get a discount on top of an already great rate plan value."

This really whomps.
I've been getting 3% back using my Apple Card.
And you vill like it, ja!
First world problems ...but I feel you. 🥴
I am on a family plan with my brother who has it set to auto pay and I log into his account every month and pay my portion of the bill with a credit card and it will deduct that payment from the charge that hits his bank account.
Agreed. I've used my CC coverage a couple times when family members dropped their phones so I'm really going to miss this. Really bummed about this, honestly the first time I'm considering leaving Tmo over these consistent changes that feel like they are trying to nickel and dime current customers.

This is how I do it and have been. Privacy stops a lot of these invisible price increases for me
