Just know that if you do go for the PS4 version, they do charge for the PS5 digital upgrade bump. However, there is some benefit to getting it for PS5 if you want to maximize its capability over there. It does utilize the controller more effectively with its available features, and you do get to play the game up to 4k mode, and it will be able to make the solid state storage work well enough to perform nicely.
If you want compatibility and don't care about the PS5-specific features, go for the PS4 version. If you want to enjoy the game's full potential with all possible features available, go for the PS5 version.

I think it's also available to stream via the highest tier PS+.
I may go that route but I'd rather just buy it on PC.

No. You have to pay $10 for the base PS5 upgrade or $20 if you want to upgrade to the Director's Cut.
You know they're going to have a big sale to move as many as possible, then release on PC at $60 and keep it full price for a year.
Annoying but good for profit maximization.
Still, buying it at full price on PC is much cheaper than buying a console for one game.
