The branding (front-center) has always bothered me on this model.

Hmmm... I wonder if I should get these or the JBL Studio 530's when they go on sale again for ~250.00.

I would go with the 530s. They are rock solid.

KEF makes higher quality speakers which are more expensive to manufacture, particularly the Uni-Q driver with the tweeter inside the woofer. Everybody has their own taste when it comes to speakers, but in general speakers follow the "you get what you pay for" maxim.

I've got two pairs of these. They are really quite good but be aware that they struggle with low frequencies at high volumes. The woofer is a bit outmatched for how it's tuned. I'd recommend a subwoofer and crossing them over no lower than 80hz. If you do this they should play louder without distorting.

To add in here, my KEF LS50 Metas are pretty power hungry at 85 dB/W/m, and these are great 'versions' of that speaker at a really good price. The Q-series are 86 dB/W/m, so a tad less sensitive, and will still need a good amp behind them. Would highly recommend at this price.
