This is the 5310 model. My kid has been using the 5310 for college and really likes how light it is and the battery life. Only drawback is the HDMI 1.4b port, which doesn't support 4K at 60 Hz.

5 series? So likely part or all or the chassis is not metal/aluminum?
Check your AMEX cards for $40 off $200. A new batch went up last week. I used 2 of them plus other Dell discounts I have accumulated to get it down to $323 (NYC tax included).
Yes. Saw this on March 4. This and the accidental damage warranty got it above $599. AMEX has a $120 off $599 or above offer. Around $525 after taxes for three years hardware warranty and accidental damage warranty. Good display (QHD), sufficient memory (16 GB), even if it is soldered, decent 11th gen CPU, and Iris Xe graphics. All in a 13" laptop. That's a good deal. In for one. (Should have posted it, but it was a busy weekend).

Thanks for the actual use feedback. Hoping the battery will be decent for at least two years.

I only have the Amex Dell $120 off $599 good through 9/1/23. I added that and then bought this. If I spend another $150 with Dell on the same Amex before 9/1/23, I'll get the $120, right?
Anyone else think this is a really solid deal? QHD, 16 RAM, and 512 storage for under $500. HDMI is a con but it has Thunderbolt 4 for 4k output.
Actually I ordered one before this post. I was looking for a laptop which is-
1. Portable within 14" display
2. USB C charging, and usc C to use with my dongle to connect 2 monitors, and a USB A connector to cennect with wireless keyboard and mouse in the lab.
3. Ability to connect with projector using HDMI in the class
4. At least 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB SSD
5. At least 11th gen processor.
This laptop is a perfect match for me and couldn't be happier to get the deal.
However, it's perfect for me doesn't mean it's perfect for everyone. It's not for heavy tasks. My day to day activities involve browsing, writing, and coding in colab.
Do not get. That is my honest advice. It is a while that Dell laptops have serious problems and the company does not give a damn. This one has serious touchpad issues. Many other models have the same issue. Some have heat sink design problem which result in motherboard failure. Yes they. One and change your mother board you will do that multiple times per year!!!! And still problem is there since they do not give a damn. Just search forums before being one and being a victim like me and my family. Just avoid them. Hopefully they go out of business soon. Wished Sony was still in Laptop business.
