AMEX's lifetime restriction does not apply when they target you for the promo (in-app / via mail etc). I had Plat few years ago and downgraded, they spammed with pre-approvals recently.

Amex doesn't care what you buy- why would they?
They care if you buy CASH cards (prepaid visas) because they don't want you essentially buying cash with the card (and even then if you can do it without L3 reporting they have no way to know you did it and it's fine).... but I've never had any issue with points posting for third party or store branded gift cards though.... Similarly when Chase does groceries as a 5x category I usually max out any remaining cap on any of my freedoms last week of the quarter with grocery store gift cards- and nobody cares....same with Costco gift cards in warehouse quarters, etc...

I hit my spend requirement mid last April and I still haven't seen the 90K points nor the $200 credit

Also realize I got the $200 credit within the first week of having the card. I just didn't see it on statement.
