Much like the Halloween franchise, I highly doubt we'll see a full set like this all in one box in 4k. Also, the first movie in this set was butchered in 4k so not a good start at all.
My guess is at least the first 4 will eventually get a boutique label treatment in 4k (likely Shout) and they will make much more definitive versions which in turn will also be more expensive so much like this threads set you will have to make the decision of buying the mediocre/subpar versions for dirt cheap or spend more to get the much improved versions.
Not trying to come off as snobbish but there's a clear reason why one version is more expensive. If those reasons don't matter to you then there is always the significantly cheaper option to buy or even just the digital copies which go on sale as well.
About the only thing which could change this is if there was a new F13 movie, but that doesn't appear to be happening anytime soon.

Why in the world didn't this one get a sequel, and why has it been so long since one was made?

Amazing story about the court battle. It sounds like essentially there won't be another movie unless/until the original writer and the studio get together and hammer out some sort of revenue sharing agreement. Nothing seems to be happening right now, which is a shame.
