Finally picked up Cities Skylines for $9 and can see this being a 100+ hour game for me already
Greatest pc game I've played since simcity 2000, imo. I don't want to even look how many hours I've put in. Super pumped for the sequel later this year.
Gonna milk that Stray price! Heard its only like 3-5 hours game play. Needs to hurry up and drop to $10!
It so happens, I finished the game just last night. I too had thought it was going to be that short, but it took me significantly longer. And then too I didn't even find all the collectibles, though I did get quite a lot of them. Can it be finished in that much time? Yes, if you are rushing through or if you already know what to do. If you are playing it without a walkthrough and are exploring each area you'll need more time. Plus you have to talk to various NPCs to figure out some of the clues.
I realize many people are genuinely good at games and can finish them fast, and others like to power through just the main story without any exploration. I can imagine short play-throughs for both those scenarios. But I also think MANY folks on the internet like to exaggerate how fast they finished a game. As if it's a competition or mark of pride.
When people say how long a game is, I always take it with a grain of salt. 🙂
I earn a good 6 figure salary as a software engineer, but it doesn't mean I want to spend willy vanilly. That should have been obvious given we are on Slick Deals.
A fool and their money are soon parted.
Other side of the coin....would you want your customers still enjoying your labor through an unauthorized 3rd party website which charges 1/4 (or less) of what you consider your fair compensation, especially when none of that money goes back to you? Also they help erode the "value" of your labor purchased directly. Arguably that is what many key sites do. I'm sure someone who spends time talking about their salary online isn't the kind of person who also doesn't care about what they get paid / doesn't value their own time.
A fool and his money are easily parted but many artists are starving because everyone can enjoy their work for free
*Note, not saying key sites are bad but there are some legitimate gripes with them. Especially if you enjoy games that were the result of paid labor that needs to see an ROI.

I would agree, but let's face it, Spider-man is hardly made by starving artists. It's one of the most successful video games around made by a major studio owned by the second largest game publisher, and the leading console manufacturer.
Video games are already devalued, and will continue to be so. Right or wrong, it is what it is.
What I will say is, video game developer can restrict where they sell their content. If they feel their content is worth it to sell it at a quarter of the price in a smaller nation, then why are they charging me more just cause I live in a different country?
Thus, the product isn't valued based on the product, but rather how much they can charge.
That said, I do tend to avoid CDKeys, Kinguin and so on. I tend to use 3rd party sites like Fanatical, Humble Bundles and GoG or buy Steam cards on sale.
As an aside, frankly speaking, I buy and own far more digital games than I can consume in a life time. Heck, I barely play games, and shouldn't be buying any game. Someone please help me stop me!!!
thoughts on New World? has it been lower than $20?
I just uninstalled that garbage game other day. I logged in and in less that 2 minutes I had NO JOKE FIVE bots run past me auto farming taking all the resources. That was the end for me I'd had enough. Other guy is right, even for free that game isn't worth bothering with for real.

https://isthereanydeal.
Isthereanydeal is a great site, however, they do not include CDKeys, so check there also. I have found CDkeys cheaper than what Isthereanydeal shows
