Respectfully, I disagree.

1. The 14 has dramatically better brightness and is 120hz. It just feels better to use.
2. The 14 has a vastly different port array if you ever touch an SD card/HDMI.
3. The speaker system in the 14 makes it not even a fair comparison.
4. The M2 Air does not support a standard dual monitor dock unless you are using awful usb display adapters. The 14 supports dual external displays.
5: Finally, the 14 inch, under load, gets much better battery life as it is designed for high wattage use.

Also have both, the tank is the better machine and is more future proof. The 14 is the ultimate small movie laptop.

Nope. Got a slightly used M2 air 16gb + 1TB with AppleCare+ until 2025. For 1500$.
The M1 pro gpu is 30% faster than M2 and cpu is 6% faster.

nope. much rather have this over your air.
Well, it depends on one's use case. I don't need M1 Pro's power, or it's display. This deal is still pretty good if "pro" features are what you want.

Yesterday I saw similar spec but M1 sold for half price online.

The only holdup I have about this is the 512GB. Really prefer at least 1TB for this thing to last a while for me.

Great deal though for those who don't mind the storage limit

If you don't mind the slower speeds of a MicroSD, I added one of these to my 14 M1 Pro for more storage for media (music, videos).

Says it's for the 13" Pro Retina but fits the 14 just fine. Kind of hard to remove the SD card from the adapter once it's in though so keep that in mind (not hard to remove adapter from laptop though).

Just made a YOLO Ambien-induced purchase! I've been wanting a 14" forever. Still seems pricey even at $1334 OOP for an open box. I'm still rocking a Steve Jobs era MBP that I got brand new for $700. My how times have changed.

Wish they would bring back 24 month 0 interest financing w/bb store card, on large purchases like this again.
Only happens during the holidays or back to school.

I bought at $1750 a year ago.. still love it alot compared to the air, but I wish it was this cheap a year ago.

Driving to NH to pick up tax free. My 2015 keyboard and track pad just stopped working. I am elated! Wish I pulled the trigger on a CC for a SUB, but this will have to do for now.

Yes, it's a good deal. But if one is considering the base model 14" then the air is generally a better choice. The 14" is 30% heavier than the air and feels like a tank compared to the air.

The air is more than powerful enough for most workloads. If one has a workload that requires more than the air, then they would also likely need more than this base model 14".

So for the people that don't have a specific need for the MBP features, I think they would be happier with the air.

I have both, and I would choose the air over the MBP any day for general and even most professional use.
