Not sure why this was thumbs down, but I bought it.

Lowest price ever from what I can tell
I've had mine in this exact config for 2 years now. After 6 months I bought the XG Mobile card for some heavier gaming. IT.IS.AWESOME! I can take it on a flight to Europe and watch movies for 8h no problem. I can game in a hotel room, run presentations for clients and it's awesome!. I'm running it with 3 monitors total (2x23''2k@160hz + laptop). Never failed me once.

10/10 would buy again!
I was just about to post this same deal! Some of the issues I saw were 16GB RAM is soldered and not upgradeable as well asonly has 3050 Ti but pros is it's touchscreen 2 in 1 tablet and can upgrade the GPU with the ROG MX Mobile device up to a 3080 which is expensive but an option.

What's the difference between a gaming and regular laptop?

This is an ultra portable gaming laptop

If you need to have the smallest, lightest touchscreen 3 in 1 laptops that is still usable usable with the ability to decently game, this is it.

If that exact combination of description is not what you need, then spend your money elsewhere to get better performance to fit your needs

Works for Asus? Most definitely.

I've owned this for a couple years now. I wanted to like it, but as others have stated, this is not a gaming laptop. Don't expect to play any AAA at decent frames without dropping more on the external gpu. Even on medium settings, this just couldn't cut it.

I took this on an airplane and I can say that there's no way it lasts a full 8 hours without a power outlet or backup battery of some kind. You're lucky if it will make it past 4 hours.

As a gaming laptop, I can't recommend this. As anything else, sure. It's small, light, easy to carry around.

"couple years"? It's a 2022 model...

All the reviews and ppl in this thread mentioned you can watch movies from 11 to 13 hours on this thing

And as for gaming

https://youtu.be/nzK30oqVJjM

This YouTube link shows it performing really well

Please link another 13 inch Ultrabook that can handle games better

I'm not buying this Ultrabook so I can game 100% of the time. That's what my gaming desktops and laptops are for. I need the best gaming Ultrabook, and this is it until they manage to fit a 3060 level gpu in there.

As a millennial who thought a 10lb gaming laptop was portable, this thing is a miracle. I've waited two decades for something like this

I would say better off building a PC and maybe pay extra $100-200 bucks.

Building a PC is very different than buying this thin laptop. One is sitting on the desk while the other is for traveling, coffee shop use. Different purpose

I cross shopped this against an 6800U Thinkbook 13s last year. Could not justify the extra cost at the time, though the GPU on this is about twice as powerful as the 680M igpu which is no slouch.

How did you buy this exact configuration two years ago? The processor only released one year ago.

You're correct. I'm running the 5900HS, misread and focused on the same GPU Frown My fault for not reading carefully enough.

$742 one, but questionable rating, they usually come out better than what it's rated for:

Available today at a location 19 miles away

sigh

I'd wish, I'd get better gear not a 13'' laptop Smilie And no, believe it or not (I know it's hard) but not everyone who's happy with the stuff they bought is a paid actor.

I bought a satisfactory conditioned laptop on a previous deal and it was in perfect mint condition, with the new smell and everything

it's only 19 miles. I'd roll the dice

Thanks for the link. I was considering this laptop, but apparently the palm deck has issues:

Quote :
Update: Just a heads-up, as Bittricks mentions in the comments, the two small rubber tips on the front corners seem to peel off easily, and the entire plastic on the armrest scuffs and peels off around the corners and front edge with everyday use.
It's a shame because I was very close to pulling the trigger, but I think this would drive me crazy.

The level of cluelessness in this forum never ceases to amaze me. People are really comparing this to bulky gigantic gaming laptops and even desktops. I have this laptop that I got for 1k new on the last BF and I absolutely love it, only downsides are the speakers(too weak), the trackpad and the screen response time, there's a lot of black smearing, but other than that, it's one of the best screens on a gaming laptop, image quality wise, even though it's only 1200p, it's better than my razer blade 14, which has a QHD 165hz.

What about the palm deck/rest area? any wear or tear happening there? peeling? etc.
EDIT: I have a G14 currently that's in the return window. I'm trying to decide if it's worth the premium over this one. I like the G14 but this one is lighter (important to me), cheaper, and I actually like the fact that the ergolift doesn't kick in until the screen is tilted to 110 degrees, since I find the ergolift on the G14 annoying when actually using the laptop in my lap.

I got this as an open box from Best Buy about a year ago. I only use it for traveling and it's great for me to edit photos and play light games while still all around or under 3 pounds.

The battery life can be short if you don't put it in the eco mode.

The only negative I can really say about this laptop, and I probably would NOT have gotten it had I known, was that for the laptop to run at full speed w/ gfx, it has to be connected to their proprietary 100W charging brick.

If I connect anything else w/ PD to it, even if it's rated 130W, the laptop will only run / charge at 60W max. So if I play some light gaming like Dota 2, the laptop will still run down on the battery even when it's plugged into a non-Asus charger, although at a pretty slow rate, like 10% per hour at most.

Just a FYI
