Is the game so good that it needs a whole dedicated device that plays a single game? Not sure how it compares with all the other rpgs we could be playing

there's actually 3 zelda games on this - and the device itself is well designed with quality components. at this price it's a steal.

I'm guessing if I have 2 NES consoles and the LoZ gold cartridge I don't need this?

Have you played Link's Awakening? If not, it comes with it here. LA is easily one of my favourites.

My two cents: The Mario one makes a better clock than the Zelda one. (Blocks are easy to read vs rupees or whatnot.) Still nice though. Still, can't pass this up if anyone is on the fence about it.

Link's Awakening blew my mind as a kid - really, really fun. With that said, this thing is simply too small for my paws. Just looking at this kills my wrists!

That's up to the consumers to decide. I'm going to guess that it's not for you. Also, it's not an rpg, it's an action adventure game.

If it comes back in stock, it's $25 at walmart.

Worth it if you need a clock. Got it for 25$ and found the D-pad to be a little unsatisfying, and the screen is absolutely tiny.
For $30 you could add these to your Switch collection and play on a screen with 4x the real estate (or tv), or just get a copy of LoZ for SNES which was a better actual game than these were.
This is for the nostalgia of playing LoZ 1 and 2 (and maybe the GB one), but that nostalgia really doesn't hold up on the tiny screen in the face of modern gaming UI and developments.

Pretty sure that's a dead price and it won't be restocked.
