Not sure about material differences, but two more bits in the OP set, and that one goes up to 1/2" where yours stops at 5/16". OP set includes only 1 1/16" bit, DWAH1182 includes 2 since they are often broken at that small size.

Edit: the DWAH1182 set referenced above is an impact rated set with 1/4" hex shanks. This set is designed for drills with chucks and has 3 flat sides machined into a cylindrical shaft.

Cobalt bits would be a lot better for hard metal (i.e. steel). Looks like Dewalt's 14 piece cobalt set is on sale too ($25). Just notice it doesn't go up to 1/2 inch if that is important.
