Looks good on paper to me - only 120W on the GPU might be a bottleneck relative to higher power GPUs on future releases. I would like to see the difference between the 135W 3060's and the 120W 4060's .

edit: Is there a reason why some laptop manufacturers are still producing laptops with DDR4 and not DDR 5 in 2023 other than potentially cost considerations? Is there a synergy issue?

4060 performance is almost capped at 100W, past that will be very diminishing return. 4060s perform close to 140W 3070 so there's that

That's good to hear. I bit on a 3060 Acer Helios Predator for Black Friday and swear I can use it as a space heater if I let the thing open up. To me, 3070-like performance and less power consumed can only be a good thing for the laptop and your desk/table.

FHD on 16" is meh... But price if fair I suppose if you want latest. Don't be fooled by 40 series. Unless you opt for 4090, you're really paying for frame insertion features. If you play games that support it, then it's worth it. Otherwise, don't pay a premium for 40 series and sacrifice on something like a better panel

It's FHD+ (1200p) not FHD (1080p). Hope you know the difference.

I do but didn't catch that. Isn't it the same in terms of true resolution but for 16:10 instead of 16:9? It's not improving any one area of the screen, I believe.

These Asus laptops are good on the paper only. The HW specs are really good but boy that screen bleeding on the corners, and the un-even plastic.. I returned mine.

Thank you for your input. Was considering it but the bleed would drive me nuts.

The early reviews on 4060 laptops are really promising even at lower wattage. In addition to the software/drivers (DLSS / frame generation), what the 4000 series really brings is efficiency. In all the benchmarks the 4000 series cards are delivering great performance with very lower power and heat. Complaints about price are fair, but the sweet spot on these 4000 series cards really does line up perfectly with the needs of a laptop.

It's still not 1440p like many 15" gaming laptops, so it's a CON.
