Picked one up, thanks. I like this deal over the recent HP Omen 16 at 1,200—for the better display, and the performance difference of the laptop variant 4060 vs 4070 not being worth $150 for me.

Best Buy has incorrect specs listed for the resolution and hdmi, btw.

If anyone wants an alternative - I ordered one of these the other day. It has similar specs and a higher res display. Just something else to consider.

Also a bunch of Open Boxes as low as $920, doesn't hurt to order and check it out.

This one was 999 and 868 open box (excellent condition) 2 weeks ago, asus just released their 2024 g14-g16 models, So we might see their 2023 models prices go down in price

I was thinking this is part of the last-gen sell off, and it will regularly be on sale from now. Aren't the old model prices usually about the same as the BF sales?

Unless you are an Intel fanboy, I also recommend the Legion. Plus it has 20W more on the GPU and is cheaper.

I think they will keep going down, if they want to get rid of inventory to make space for the 2024 models.

Just beware there's a good and bad version of that laptop too. The cheaper 7735hs version has the older processor and ALSO a 60wh battery instead of the 7840hs + 80wh version. That's 25% less battery life …..

After 2+ years with my 15" Zephyrus... nope. Never again. Drivers are very wonky. Periodically, keyboard stops working and only complete shutdown (not restart) works to fix it. Fingerprint sensor is wonky. Sometimes even the wireless stops working.

Very unimpressed.

Yea, that link is the 'less-good' of the two. This one has a better processor, more battery life, and a 1tb hard drive for ~$250 more. I'm still debating but ordered the cheaper one to see how the battery life was.

Just for kicks - here's a table comparing those two laptops and the $280 Ideapad3 that was on here the other day. I found battery life estimates for the Slim 5, too - 6.7 hours Mobile Mark and 8.3 hours 1080p streaming.
