Super fun car for the money, just know what you're getting into: at some point, something IS going to break, and you're going to have to take it apart to fix it. The faster the RC goes, the harder it runs into things.
I got tired of seeing this thing on my workbench after the third time it broke in a year with fairly light usage, and now it's been sitting in my garage for another year waiting for me to crack it open again (something with steering this time).
I didn't even drive it that hard--this car just kind of straddles the two worlds of "very fast hobby grade RC" and "budget plastic parts grinding on each other". By the time you replace all the plastic stuff with metal, you probably should've just bought a more expensive RC.
As great of a deal as this car is (I actually got it for $60 a couple Christmases back), it's kind of hard to recommend to someone who doesn't know what they're signing up for. It's going to absolutely blow the doors off of all the junk you've tried off-the-shelf at Target, but it also might leave you wishing you bought just a liiiiiitle bit more car.
If you do go with this I'd recommend ordering at least 3 to 5 spur gears and diff cups when you do. Ours chew through those like mad. Otherwise a great RC.
The Boost Line up looks really great as an alternative and probably why this one is marked down.
I have two of these for my Son and I, from previous sales and have been enjoying them for at least a couple years now. The only upgrade was a 7500 battery. I Highly recommend.

Depends on who's driving it, the stock battery isn't terrible but it's really the only upgrade I've done since purchasing it. I keep them as a backup but the upgraded batteries last us long enough ( ~ 30 mins), driving on and off.
I'm looking for something that use gas... Can't be bothered with charging

The truth!...this exact thing happened to me. I did two things to help: Installed a cooling fan above that hole above the motor to help move the heat from motor. A guy online correctly pointed out that the heat from the motor (especially when using a lipo in warm weather) warms up the plastic spur gear and then it's more prone to stripping. I also started upgrading to metal gears, but the price of the metal gears is the same as the entire RC, itself! But the fan was cheap.
One free thing that helps prevent this problem is to NOT hold down the throttle while landing a jump. Be sure to have the throttle off while landing any size jump. Also, don't go from reverse to full forward quickly (especially on grass!).
I wonder why these never come with simple USB or usb-c charging port... Any idea?
These RCs use big batteries a USB output would take forever to charge. We use hobby chargers which can charge at 6 amps where a toy RC with tiny batteries that are built in can use a USB.
I'm an experienced RC hobbyist coming from the world of FPV drones and looking to get into ground vehicles. Would this be a good first purchase or should I go for something a bit more advanced?
Do these Lipo Batteries need to be recharged differently than what is included? I'm brand new to RC Cars but I know my son will lose his poop when we drive this around.

Yes! I bought a separate charger for those. B6AC 80W series. I'm pretty new to this stuff as well

Yes. I was in the same boat. Great starter truck. Just grab a 2s 5200mAh lipo, and you'll be all set. I assume you already have a hobby grade charger since you fly FPV. Gave mine to my daughter when I upgraded, but this one is a lot of fun.

For $100, these are great starter bashers for people new to the hobby.

A tank would get you at least a few hours I would think... The noise I agree would be aggravating. But for me the recharging of battery is the worst
