I bought the one from Newegg yesterday.
I use several of these for a small business that I managed that has a couple of different branch areas. I run a couple access points and some cameras. this is the low end POE switch So if you plan on running several high power devices, recommend you get the higher power (123W for $79 vs this 62W) switch. beyond that, these are absolutely awesome switches. fully manageable with VLAN separation, you can independently power cycle devices using the web GUI. at less than $40 for a fully manageable POE switch, you can't go wrong!
I just hope we start to see these kind of price drops on the larger port capacity switches, I really need a 24 port with similar capability.
The statement is true for many consumer grade network devices.

I don't need it.
ok, I'll buy one just in case.
Just barely getting into POE cameras because got really tired of Wifi IP Cameras dropping network coverage when its really important to record something.
EDIT: I was only charged tax on the discounted amount, so you may want to double check the receipt on Amazon and contact them if that's not the case for you.

I'll see about contacting Amazon about it...
I've never come close to maxing out a switch on power, so I don't know if there's a safety margin you want to include like 10% below what the max rated value is or whatever. chances are you won't run into that for typical home setup. If it's too many by another, they're only 40 bucks man lol I didn't even need one and I bought one to put it on the shelf.

I guess compared to Amazon.
I wish there was someone that was basically "Newegg fifteen years ago" I could support instead, because supporting the company they've evolved into feels like supporting rakutan.
