Not worth the hassle. I signed up for their iPhone business deal in November, and long story about incorrect activation/plan/etc problems that took a month to resolve aside, the thing that was most annoying was as a business customer, your account is flagged in a special way, no customer service person will assist you no matter how general, so you are always passed off to the business specialists.

But the business group closes super early. 5pm and closed weekends! So good luck if you need them on a weekend. And to make it worse yet, regular customer service still won't talk to you on a weekend, so they pass you off to some outsourced business group in India, which—and I'm not exaggerating—always had a hold time greater than 1 hour, one Sunday was over 3.5 hours, and I was hung up on when they answered. Chat help has the same issue! Only specialists will interact with you, they are never available…

The outsourced groups also have no information about anything and whatever notes or cases they submit go into a paper shredder or void, or they just pretend to mash their keyboard, because the business specialists never seemed to see or confirm any contact with this mysterious group whose sole job seems to be to only waste people's time.

I have never had a problem with regular Tmobile customer service in prior terms with them and had to cancel, and I was happy to despite all the fees, and charges I incurred with that terrible mistake.

If I ever go back to Tmobile, and that's a BIG IF, I will only sign up for their regular service.

Wonder if this works under One plans, or is Magenta or newer plan required?

EDIT: Never mind, says its only for the new Unlimited Ultimate plan. Would cost me an extra 100/month to switch for not much benefit in my use case.

When the T-Mobile account is opened under the name of a company (big corp all the way down to single-owner small business, but using an EIN, not your SSN)

EDIT: Cgigate just commented that apparently they will give business accounts to people under just their SSN. This was far from my experience when I opened mine 10+ years ago, but things might have changed since then. In any case, at minimum it's ymmv.

Yep. Been fooled by them once. Not going to fall for it again. They make up the cost of phone via monthly data charge.

I currently have 2 tablet lines $10/mo each from the business deal a while ago.

Could I get this deal and not lose these lines?

Also, what exactly are you paying the $100+ one-time charges? Is the activation that expensive?
None of my existing deals ("insider" from when I signed up, free lines, $25/mo deal on one 5G home internet line, etc) were effected. I think the larger question is if your plan qualifies for this offer.

The activation is $35/line like usual, but in total for two it was $257 for me because sales tax in this part of SC is 9%.

Yes and no. His plan didn't qualify so he would've had to switch plans which is why the cost went up. (No way would I have switched plans either, I've got a ton of deals locked-in on this plan.)

Since my business plan qualified for the deal, I just had to pay the standard $35/mo for the new line ($30/mo after autopay discount); no data or usage gotchas.

For non-business, they have a similar offer if you sign up for their "Go 5G Plus" and trade in a device. The trade-in can be iphone 7 or higher and I think they all offer $830 trade-in value if they still work. $830 is their current price on iPhone 14 128GB so "free" phone with trade-in.

It seems like 3-4 lines maximizes your savings: $90/month for 1 line, $150/month for 2 lines, $150/month for 3 lines, $185/month for 4 lines.

$50/month phone service isn't the best price. You'd have to check out what the plan gives you to see if it's worthwhile. 50 gb hotspot, free netflix, free apple tv+, "free" phone, etc.

Or Galaxy S23+ is $8.33/month for 24 months (with "Go 5G plus" plan pricing) if you don't have a trade-in.

Your plan you mean existing phone plan?
That's the problem, I don't have one. I only have 2 tablet lines in business account (sole prop).

Gotcha. I don't know how that would work, but it seems likely you'd have to change plans which would probably nuke the deal on the tablet lines. But again, I don't know for sure; your best bet is to go into a corporate store and have them look into it.

I checked with my T-Mobile business account executive. He insisted that this iPhone 14 promo is for Ultimate+ plan and must be a new account with separate billing from my existing account. He could not find buy one get one promotion from the system.

I will not trust too much with any agent in T-Mobile store. They are not supposed to handle T-Mobile business account. All they want is signing you up for anything and selling you expensive phones to get their commission, and leave you with a big mess in your account.

My plan (according to my T-Mobile app and on my bill) is "Magenta Plus for Business" and it worked fine.

This has literally never been my experience.

This promotion is a free (presumably after bill credits) iPhone if you add a qualifying voice line. So it doesn't matter if you don't have a phone line now. Add a voice line to your existing business account, get free phone. That's what you would need to look into.
