Depends on your preference really. 300 for a p125 is a really good price, even for a used in good condition. I tried it in store and the speakers were bare bones compared to these console ones, and the action was too heavy for my taste. They're very different products but the CA49 is definitely an upgrade if you want something that really feels and looks like a "real" piano, but still at an entry level. As far as feel of the action and piano sounds/samples, that's also really personal preference. The p125 is more than enough for a beginning learner or someone looking into it as a hobby. I tried the CA49 at a Sam Ash and just liked it so much more than anything else I tried in that price range and decided to stretch my budget to wait for a sale like this.

I just got the Yamaha P125 for $300.
Is this worth the 1200 price difference?

Not for a beginner. You'll develop preferences for the action as you get further. You won't know until you're a few years into piano.
The ca49 along with all Kawai's products have a light action similar to the P125. Whereas the P515 and up from Yamaha have much heavier feeling substantial actions. It's not that 1 is better than the other, but I don't think beginners need to make the distinction right away nor could they.
I purchased this for during one of the previous sales for my 6yo to start learning. I don't know anything about piano so my inputs are basically what my son said. And he's only been taking lessons for about 9 months (one a week). Other than this, my son started out with an old Suzuki digital piano that's probably 20y old. His piano teacher has a Steinway baby grand and a Yamaha upright. His first reaction after playing on the baby grand was the action and sound. He liked them more than the old Suzuki. That's when we decided to picked this up. Love the fact that we can move it around the house until we found the right space and doesn't have the need for "maintenance" other than a wipe down with damped microfiber cloth and vacuum the keys one a week. My son said the action and the sound is better than the Suzuki but still not as good as the baby grand or the upright his teacher has. But I think it still helped him to develop the fingers strength to be able to play on the acoustics.

The CA49 has been discontinued, replaced with the CA401 which is now available after supply chain delays. These closeout sales won't last forever.
