The gold outline is only on the black lettering and I think that was a new addition to the black lettering a few years ago

Mine came in an Amazon box, ball wrapped in plastic
Those extra grooves on the ball evens it out when you have so much dust/dirt on outdoor courts making the ball a bit more harder to handle over time. Although I read some reviews saying its too grippy (those people are probably just using it indoors).
It seems like an easier to find one is that "Spalding NBA Zi/O" if can't find above.

At $60 this is the best price for this ball
That said I've seen ppl who own green evolution balls from Amazon that aren't soft and harder on the outside than other evolution basketballs. I would return right away if it doesn't feel soft - think there might be decent amount of fakes on Amazon

I paid 15 at Target a few months ago. Granted, it was in the aisle with no box, and the cashier looked it up on her phone and basically guessed the price.
