This is pretty much the normal price for the 6700 XT now. Should be under $300 at this point with $340 being the standard price for the 6750 XT at this point, IMHO.

Yeah. That deal was one of a kind over the past month and has certainly ruined me when looking other "deals".. I had it in the cart, but was just beginning my search and said "don't be impulsive, prices must be dropping". How wrong I was.

Oh well. AMD should announce new cards at the show later in May. Here's hoping that brings some price breaks across the board.

I own the RX 6750 XT MECH card from MSI and let me tell you, that is one hot running GPU card. Albeit I am running it in a small mini-ITX case, a Hyte Revolt 3 (not small for a mini ITC case but still small and cramped compared to cases most people are using).

The solution is I am using CoreCtrl utility in Manjaro Linux, to undervolt the card by 77 millivolts, to overclock the max clock higher 200 MHz (paradoxically that makes it run cooler during peak usage since it displays a bit quicker), and by setting an aggressive fan graph on it. I can get it to work within reasonable limits ~70C in hard gaming.

Having said that, the max junction temperature on these cards is 110C.

Except AMD was also going to announce back in March, and then it was going to be in April (last month).

Another thing to keep in mind is the nVidia RTX 4070 is laying an egg, something I mentioned right here last month and got downvoted by nVidia fans -- in other words I was correct and it goaded them mind you. 4070 sales on Amazon are just barely more than the RX 580 2048SP the China-only graphics card from 2018. Which by the way is a great card, especially if you buy it from Aliexpress for $48 and $67 as I did, and not pay Amazon $119 for the same thing, but I digress.

Sadly, nVidia probably won't care much nor lower prices beyond the reported $50 rebate it's going to give to AIB's to allow them to drop the price on the 4070 to $550, which is still too high. If they lower prices too much they will fail to raise the floor prices for graphics cards and fail to elevate consumers' price expectations.

Agreed. The reason I mention 4070 at all is, it is such an overpriced, slow-seller, that AMD probably does not feel under any pressure to push out its own new 7000 cards in the mid-range, since this RX 6700 XT, and my own RX 6750 XT, cover this range nicely already and at a much lower cost than nVidia.

But I do agree with everything you said.

Fair point...though, one of these times it has to happen...right?? laugh out loud

What will be interesting is if the AMD cards are geared to compete with that 4070 price point (and increased performance), or if they hit 4070 performance at a lower price point. $800+ for a graphics card is still quite a niche market I suspect. Something of that performance in the $400-$500 range becomes much more tangible for a lot of would-be-buyers I imagine (which is likely obtainable in the very near future via something like the 6800xt).
