I received my 6a from Metro and can confirm that it won't work with TMobile sim out of the box. I've tested with my T-Mobile sim card and couldn't get services.

I would eat the additional net $10 to avoid all that crap and get a new number. No AF, $20 cheaper plan. Authorized dealers are 90% scammers.

So I have both A54 and S21FE. I just played with both more today and must say, if not considering battery, s21FE is just better in almost every aspect. Thinner bazels, more responsive fingerprint sensor, better/juicer colors and viewing angles, better camera, mega super-duper stereo speakers (A54 also has good ones but s21 has better ones). I had Pixel7 and honestly, I hated the screen. Had terrible headaches just from staring at P7, so I assume with P6a it would be the same (if not worse). Therefore, if you have extra $50 and want some decent camera and overall smooth experience go with s21fe, but if battery really meters go with a54. However, if you just want the cheapest option and like making photos, go with P6a. Just my 2 cents

If it helps anyone. I ordered the pixel 6a and out of the box it worked fine with mint mobile. Once I put in the metro sim and activated it the phone was simlocked to metro.
and so can one assume that after u placed the Metro sim, the Mint sim would no longer work?

Interesting. I'm thinking that as long as it's on Mint, the phone will not start the countdown to unlock though. The Mint $45. for 3 months is attractive.vs the $40 or $60 with Metro.

Don't count your chickens just yet. Metro auto-activates the phones around 10-15 days after purchase.

I am sure there would be a few who have both Pixel 6a and Samsung A54. Please recommend which one is better. I am currently on S22 which I would be giving to my nephew once this Metro device unlocks and use it until S24 releases. And then give this Metro device to my other nephew Stick Out Tongue

I had a factory-unlocked Pixel 6a, and sold it after I got the Metro A54 because I like the vivid screen colors of the A54 more than the dull colors of the Pixel 6a. Which one is better is subjective and depends on your preferences. Some people prefers the A54 because it has microSD card, while others prefer the 6a for its better camera.

Performance wise, I ran GeekBench tests on the phones that I have and the results are in the attachment (don't have result for the 6a because I already sold it).

i dont have 6a
but i have a54 & GP7.
i prefer the a54 over even the 7.
never really liked the 7, so i imagine i will hate the 6a based on its shortcomings.
going by strictly msrp, the a54 seems to be of more value.
i like how crisp the screen on the a54 is.

finally based on u & ur family on S eco space .
would suggest the a54 hands down

Got the 6a today, no sig required. Had a Mint sim and got the "sim not compatible" popup. Have it set up now on the Metro sim and all working well. Very similar to my 3a, but with some nice improvements like a brighter screen, speakers sound a bit better (more full), and the 5G is a nice upgrade. Too early to tell if I will like it as much as the A54. I'm giving one of them away to daughter as I don't need both. I do like the smaller screen of the 6a though.

Agreed with desi_babu.
The Pixel has a slightly better camera, processor and a clean version of android, but the Samsung has a way better battery and screen. If you're already in the Samsung environment I can't imagine you'd want the Pixel.

Did you try the Mint SIM before or after the Metro SIM was put in ?

There is a visible offer for the same price as $49 (they are offering to legacy users, not everyone, and the code is specific to each user, so it is not applicable to everyone).

There is only one difference: I already use Visible, so I don't have to spend extra on service. I also have an A54 from the Metro deal.

Do you like Pixel 6a more than A54?

I was porting my line from Verizon. Store charging a lot of extras:

Tax on full price of the phone: 8% * 450 = $36
SIM card Fee: $15
Activation Fee: $25
Min Plan: $65

That's ALMOST $150. Are these guys for real?

that sounds crazy, you got in a thief dent
Similar thing for me. I had a spare number to do a port and in the store they ended up charging sales tax on the pre-discounted price ($350 x local tax rate) which kills any savings from the port-in version of this deal. My local tax rate is 9.4% and even with the tax included it should be 350 * .094 + 65 = 98 out the door. But somewhere they tacked on another $10 for $108 which I think is probably the insurance which they never asked me whether I wanted.

Not only this, my local store required a printed out physical statement (PDF or electronic statement won't be sufficient), which I didn't have and wasted half an hour going to Fedex to get it printed. And they kept saying the 40/mo plan is not eligible for the promo, even though the website says 40/mo is eligible. When I asked them to explain the actual charges between my own calculation and their quote, they refused and they instead said I'm trying to scam them, even though I feel like I'm the one being scammed.

Yeah guys don't go in the store.

Most (if not all) Metro stores are scams now; avoid them.
I learned that in my area, all crop stores converted to private authorized stores, and all are scammers.
They asked for $25 plus $5 in activation fees. They don't honor any Metro official ads such as "iPhone 11 on us" or "4 lines with free phones for $100"; they put all crap on top!!

Seriously I was in the store for more than an hour, and everyone who walked in is like a senior or non-English speaking immigrant or something, people who don't know wtf is going on and easy targets for scams since they don't know anything and don't ask questions. I'm there explaining the terms of the promo to them and the manager's like "I don't want to sell this to you". Jerk offs.
