I'm Hanzelnuts, I was mentioned in the Wiki. You guys are lucky because Spectrum is excepting a lot of older phones as trade in for this promotion. A Note 4 is now worth $35 + $600. That's crazy.

I did this promotion 2 months ago. Traded in my Note 9 for $27 and Iphone 8 plus for $12. Note 9 was the oldest they will take back then and so was the iPhone 8. I had a Note 4 that didn't qualify. I had to buy the IPhone 8 for $90 to do the trade in.

I went in the store and paid in full for S23 Ultra and S23. Contrary to FatGuyPoolShark, I like many people, had to send in our trade-in to Assurant. You'll be lucky if the store accept your trade in. It has to be sent in.

Anyways, I have Spectrum internet. There was a promotion of buy one unlimited line for $29.99 and you'll get one line free. For those that didn't get this promotion in their email, ASK THE REP at the store if you can get that promo. Chances are, they'll say yes.

I was able to unlock my 2 phones within one week. I called and asked if they could unlock them and the agent unlocked them while I was on the phone with her. You might want to say you're traveling and needed them unlock.

Assurance emailed me and says my phones were accepted as trade-ins. But instead of $27 for my Note 9, they only going to pay me $15 reason being it was late. It wasn't late, as they received it within the 30 days required to mail in.

I have a credit of $1227 with Spectrum right now. I'm too busy to call and ask them to credit them back to my credit card. It shouldn't be a problem though.

Feel free to ask any questions if need to.

I wonder if I could trade in a S23 for a Plus, in the store?
That's dead, they no longer take s23 online, so the store won't take it either.

False it's back now. $1k for s23.
I'm leaving right now to trade in my s23 for the 23 plus. There must have been a glitch. This morning it wouldn't show moto g stylus 5G 2022 and s23. Now it's showing.

For everyone who is about to partake in the gold rush, a couple of tips:

1) Speed speed speed. No one knows when they may change the trade-in lists again, so act fast. New lines work. Phone upgrades work. Repeated upgrades work (don't try to do repeated in a single day).
2) Do not trade in a brand new phone. Make the phone look used with dust and fingerprints. Only the phone is needed, keep the box and accessories at home.
3) They will be saving your ID, so trade-in within reason and understanding that they can terminate all of your Spectrum services for abuse.
4) To minimize your trips, consider paying for extra lines so you can apply trade-ins with those lines. You only need to a line long enough for unlocking.
5) Consider waiting to cancel. Too many cancellations or too fast would be a big red flag.

so what is the process to upgrade?
Walk in with my S23 and give my S23 phone number and say I want to upgrade to S23+ of S23 Ultra? Give/confirm my account number?
Follow Sales Rep instruction from there?

The rep told me today that if I wanted to upgrade my line I would have to wait after 14 days?
Something to do with the 14 days to return the phone thing.

Hmmm...I've never seen that requirement before? I traded in a S22 for the S23 a few days ago. My account now shows I'm eligible for an upgrade.

Are people actually trading in a S23 that they just bought with a new line and then trying to do a upgrade to the same line with that same phone?

the people are the store dont say anything about that?

I think the safest way to do this is to take the s23 you just got from the trade in, and trade that phone in again for a new line. That way its not super obvious that you are trading in the phone you just received.

Just went to my local store and the s23 isn't showing up in their system at all even though it shows up online and the guy told me to come in tomorrow to get his supervisor to fix it or manually add the correct trade in credit
