I did this promotion 2 months ago. Traded in my Note 9 for $27 and Iphone 8 plus for $12. Note 9 was the oldest they will take back then and so was the iPhone 8. I had a Note 4 that didn't qualify. I had to buy the IPhone 8 for $90 to do the trade in.
I went in the store and paid in full for S23 Ultra and S23. Contrary to FatGuyPoolShark, I like many people, had to send in our trade-in to Assurant. You'll be lucky if the store accept your trade in. It has to be sent in.
Anyways, I have Spectrum internet. There was a promotion of buy one unlimited line for $29.99 and you'll get one line free. For those that didn't get this promotion in their email, ASK THE REP at the store if you can get that promo. Chances are, they'll say yes.
I was able to unlock my 2 phones within one week. I called and asked if they could unlock them and the agent unlocked them while I was on the phone with her. You might want to say you're traveling and needed them unlock.
Assurance emailed me and says my phones were accepted as trade-ins. But instead of $27 for my Note 9, they only going to pay me $15 reason being it was late. It wasn't late, as they received it within the 30 days required to mail in.
I have a credit of $1227 with Spectrum right now. I'm too busy to call and ask them to credit them back to my credit card. It shouldn't be a problem though.

All you have to do is go home ,pay off the phone amount in full, then the next day call them to credit back the trade in amount to same CC on file, and unlock phone. I have done this twice now…..on the same phone line. Lol

- Opted for a new line/number with Spectrum. Do I have to activate Spectrum mobile on the S23?
- The package I received has no info on how to do the mail-in trade-in. Does that show up on my account somewhere? Does activating the S23 on Spectrum mobile trigger that trade-in stuff?
I did the trade-in for 4 lines in the state of Washington on Wed., 5/24.
I first went to the local Spectrum store on Sat., 5/19. The store had only one S23, but I needed 4 S23's. The female Spectrum rep/specialist I dealt with, after talking to another more experienced rep/specialist, ordered and reserved 4 S23's for me. They said the shipment should arrive in two weeks. The shipment arrived in three days. I went to the store to do the trade-in after the female rep/specialist called and informed me of the arrival of my 4 reserved S23's.
So you can ask the store to order and reserve additional S23's for you. It takes three days for the shipment to come in in my case.
Also, the toll-free number for the store is actually Spectrum's national sales number. You need to get the specialist's personal cell number if you want to talk to anyone in the local store. The specialists are more than willing to give out their personal cell numbers because they work on commissions.
Also, according to the more experienced specialist in my local store, the store has not received any info regarding the early termination of the current trade-in promo. The deadline is still 6/30/23. I asked the question about the deadline when I asked the store to order new S23's for me.

Then I called them directly to handle the refund of the trade in credit and to process the unlock on the phone.
