I'm Hanzelnuts, I was mentioned in the Wiki. You guys are lucky because Spectrum is excepting a lot of older phones as trade in for this promotion. A Note 4 is now worth $35 + $600. That's crazy.

I did this promotion 2 months ago. Traded in my Note 9 for $27 and Iphone 8 plus for $12. Note 9 was the oldest they will take back then and so was the iPhone 8. I had a Note 4 that didn't qualify. I had to buy the IPhone 8 for $90 to do the trade in.

I went in the store and paid in full for S23 Ultra and S23. Contrary to FatGuyPoolShark, I like many people, had to send in our trade-in to Assurant. You'll be lucky if the store accept your trade in. It has to be sent in.

Anyways, I have Spectrum internet. There was a promotion of buy one unlimited line for $29.99 and you'll get one line free. For those that didn't get this promotion in their email, ASK THE REP at the store if you can get that promo. Chances are, they'll say yes.

I was able to unlock my 2 phones within one week. I called and asked if they could unlock them and the agent unlocked them while I was on the phone with her. You might want to say you're traveling and needed them unlock.

Assurance emailed me and says my phones were accepted as trade-ins. But instead of $27 for my Note 9, they only going to pay me $15 reason being it was late. It wasn't late, as they received it within the 30 days required to mail in.

I have a credit of $1227 with Spectrum right now. I'm too busy to call and ask them to credit them back to my credit card. It shouldn't be a problem though.

Feel free to ask any questions if need to.

I'm still unsure, do I really have to activate the S23 on 'Spectrum Mobile'?
In CA, and sent out the trade-in device via mail. What's stopping me from not activating the spectrum mobile thing at all?

I am looking to trade in Samsung Galaxy A14 5g, but I don't see in their list of acceptable devices. Instead, they have the previous version, which is Samsung Galaxy A13 5g.
If I choose A13 5g instead of A14 5g and add imei, it is accepting.
Will it be accepted by their Assurant Tradein team if the model is different and imei is correct?
Any idea?
I think it is a mistake that they've not added A14 5g
Under "OTHER" carrier. The Samsung A14 5G is worth $80 in trade-in value plus $600. So it is worth $680 if you trade-in Samsung A14 5G for S23.

I traded in a Pixel 3a (excellent condition & unlocked) for a Galaxy S23. I mailed the Pixel 3a at USPS post office on 5/18/2023.
The tracking number shows it was delivered to delivered to Assurant on 5/30/2023.
I have not yet (6/6/2023) received any notice of acceptance (nor denial) from either Assurant or Spectrum.

Is there a good way to contact Assurant or Spectrum to get an unpate on the status of my trade-in?
I sent mine on the 23 and got same tracking info.

Just received email this afternoon saying it was accepted and I will get the credit.

The tracking info from assaurant never changed from the "in transit" status

My trade-in got approved for $611.
May I know how long it takes to refund? And does that go to the credit card or spectrum account? I have already paid off my phone

I'm currently a Spectrum customer and want this deal, but I don't want to actually activate it on my account (want to give it to a family member on Verizon). Can I do that, after unlock?

If you don't activate, it's technically a violation of the terms of the promo so you might not get the $600 promo with the trade-in.
Also, failure to activate probably prevents ever SIM-unlocking the phone.

I don't think it's possible to SIM-unlock the phone without first activating it. Maybe your family member could activate it then unlock it, but it'd be best to call Spectrum to ask if this would work without voiding the promo and losing $600.

Successfully traded my # to another SDer for port-in promotion. Spectrum account now showing nothing for the mobile, mobile account closed. For anyone else who wants to port-out or trade away your #, you will need your:

1) Mobile Account Number: This is different that your Internet Account Number. Get it online under Billing > Mobile
2) Security Pin: Could be same as your Internet Security Pin. Get it online under Billing > Mobile
3) Phone Number
4) Billing Zip (Optional, depends on new carrier). Get it online under Billing > Mobile

Any idea how long it takes to credit the trade-in promo into our credit card?

SD trading rules caps the trading value to $5 cash equivalents, like $5 amazon gift card per phone number. It's about half what you would get off ebay, but you are helping another SD get a deal.

SDers are looking for phone numbers in any thread that requires # port-in for a deal. Search by phone carriers T-Mobile, AT&T, Cricket, Metro, Boost, etc. Just no Verizon carriers since Spectrum is a Verizon MVNO. If you want to know which threads I posted in specifically, just click on my account and look at my post history. It took only a couple hours before my # was traded.
