Yes, the new 4TB MX500 is actually using QLC to screw up buyer
if you have the open NVME slot go with that instead, smaller, no cables, and faster. Sometime even has the same storage chips (but different controller chips)

Yes absolutely if there's a NVME slot. I opted to use NVME enclosure for more future proofing and it came out to be ~$85 for 2TB Drive and enclosure that will get me 850MBytes/s transfer speed.

But this is great for people who don't have NVME slot and still wants a ton of storage.

Most of the recent comments show a drive failure very early on. I would never try to save the equivalent of a few cups of coffee to store my data on a cheap, no-name drive!!
