All tool batteries are powered by LiIon cells that range from an absolute 2.8V minimum to 4.2V maximum. That gives 3.6 volts "average". 5 cells make the most basic battery. 5 x 3.6 = 18V. That's how Ryobi choses to advertise their batteries. The average voltage between fully charged and fully discharged == Honest.
Other companies chose to use the maximum voltage only when almost right off the charger and not used which would be 4.0 to 4.2V. 5x4 = 20.
You get no additional voltage, no additional power (wattage) out of same AmpHour battery between one advertised at 18V vs 20V. 18V 4 AH battery from Ryobi is the exact same amount of power as a 20V 4AH from another company due to the stretching of nominal voltage rating.
A Ryobi battery fresh off the charger is usually at least 20.5V without load. That's going to be the same for any manufacturer.

Works great. I use this to trim my palm tree branches.
(This person is claiming to be smart)
If I can return the batteries, I will.
If not, 3 HP batteries for $99 is not bad. I like the fact that it's 2ah/4ah/6ah rather than 3 4ah.
You can chose a particular battery for certain job.
(I didn't look too close, hopefully there is.)

Edit: Reviews say the wall mount is terrible and it doesn't charge through the wall mount. That would make it not worth $200 for tool only for me.
Look at direct tools outlet for ryobi refurbished from the factory.
My mom had a real expensive cordless vac that broke. I gave her a ryobi vac since she already had a few batteries for the blower and weedeater. She loves the cordless vac and says it is lighter and does a better job than her previous expensive vac.
