I would love to see where you're finding a 6ft top for significantly less than this posted deal? I haven't seen anything since before covid so I don't know how you're blaming SD for the lack of these deals? The market has changed, SD has no control over that. The lowest price I can find was $95 from last fall for a similar birch top... but that was like 9 months ago. The Ikea offerings are thinner and known to sag. If you have a good example you should share so people can make an informed decision on whether this deal is for them.

Excuse me for my different opinion. I think that is not cheaper to DIY build a similar butcher block style bench top if you add the cost of several quality 24" C-clamps and a 24" wide surface planner into the DIY project.

Yes. I have an acacia version on wireframe legs that I am typing on top of right now. Mine is oversized @ 40" deep, to make a more "Executive" sized desk and currently has a full desktop with ultrawide monitor, and a 3dprinter on it. Hasn't shown any significant sag/flex and been in use for about 2 years.

All I did was sand and oil seal it before mounting the legs.

Hey where did you get the frame. Since this has pre drilled holes and probably only husky brand will fit

How do we install custom work bench legs I see with 72 inch they will cost 150$. Can I just use regular legs after installing M8 wood insert and screwing this in.

Would this be a stable setup or any other recommendations, I will be putting 1500 dollar monitor and potentially my legs underneath.

I've been looking for a butcher block as a desk top for a long time - I would absolutely not buy anything less than 30" in depth unless I'm mounting my monitors to the wall. I'm rocking two monitors on a foldable table and it's 72"W x 30"D and it's perfect for a two monitor setup.

You don't use c clamps to glue up panels.

F clamps.

And you need a jointer as well.

And to the OP, the price of the 2x4 alone is more expensive than this you dingbat.

I'm on the fence. My current desk is only about 24" deep and I'm okay with it, so this is a p cheap price for a finished piece of wood. But I see Floor & Decor has a 60 x 30in. butcher block for $150, but it's unfinished.
