Opened a account for my son and they flagged it as fraud AFTER A COUPLE OF WEEKS.even though he has never had an account. I had opened a Truist acct last year..so seems linked to that...but my son never had an account with them....he even got a debit card for the account. ..had to go thru hoops to get my initial deposit money back...and a check that I had DD into the new account that bounced.... horrible horrible bank....Why could they have not flagged the acct earlier and sent an email

My wife signed up and had no issues. I signed up and when I tried to activate my debit card, a fraud flag was triggered. CS in Asia told me that I would "never" be allowed to withdraw my money and the account was permanently locked. That turned out to be half true. I was able to get my money by providing ID and spending 2 hours at a local branch, but the account was indeed permanently locked. The branch manager assured me that I could simply open a new account and would still get the bonus, but Truist denied it saying that the closed account meant I was no longer a "new customer." Terrible experience and I would never bank w/ Truist again.

I opened an account in mid April and just got the $400 credited to my account. I had deposits from Ebay over the last 2 months go there from sales I made and it worked just fine. Ebay deposits count as "Direct Deposit" for these checking account promotions. I did the same with 5/3 bank and Wells Fargo over the last couple of years. Easy money.
