We might can expect other cards to drop in price since today is the release of the RX 7600 which starts out at $269 Dollar

Ooh damn. That's a good price. Good solid 1080p for under $200.

The 3060 is the closest competition, but it costs substantially more. Don't buy one. The a750 is worse simply because its software and drivers aren't mature enough to support all titles. Some it runs well, some it can't run at all. The Intel cards are kind of an 'if you have to ask you shouldn't get one' kind of thing -- they're really only worth buying to support the idea of Intel graphics cards.

If you want to spend a bit more and have a 1080p monitor, get a 6700. That is the only reasonable upgrade below $300. But again, at this price, the 6600 is the price to performance king.
Supposedly the A750 drivers have come a long way and are getting better all the time. Check this: https://www.pcgamer.com/nvidias-rtx-4060-ti-and-amds-rx-7600-highlight-one-thing-intels-dollar200-ar... [pcgamer.com]

6700xt is a 350$ ish range. Which is also where the RTX 3060 is which is a no brainer go 6700xt every time. Also the 12GB vram is very helpful.

But this gigabyte 8gb 6600 card for under 200 is hard to beat for a nice entry level gamer card and it's gonna still trade blows with it beat a 3060
There is a post here in SD for 6750xt for $330 from Newegg. After abysmal reviews of 4060Ti and the 7600, I went with that.

Fantastic price and comes with TLOU. Would totally hop on this for an extra level system. Pair with a 5600 (or even 3600) CPU and 16gb of ram.

What is this equivalent to Nvidia? And is this better or worse than the A750 from intel?
It's more comparable to the arc a770. But this has much better driver suport

Yep, but the driver improvements are largely targeted, so the card doesn't do well with just any game. Also, it requires ReBar, which is a feature most boards older than the past three generations don't support.

I agree, brand new the 6600 is the best price to performance card one can get today. I will add, for those who don't mind the used, ebay route, a 5700 XT can be had for a good price. Hardware Unboxed had a video not too long ago showing how well the 5700 XT has held up these years.

My daughter was complaining about occasional stuttering in Fortnite (she refuses to turn down the settings, kids and their eye candy, haha) so I picked up a Saphire Nitro+ 5700 XT off ebay a few weeks ago for $165. I put that in my VR machine and handed down the Geforce 1080 to her.

Also seeing the main issue with Intel ARC GPU is in older direct x games, so avoid if this is you

This is a good point. The thing to watch out for is that the 5700xt was THE large scale mining card, so a used one is highly likely to have been used for mining. not necessarily bad, but worth considering. Anyway, a typical 5700xt is about the same size as this card, performance is equal or better, but they are more power hungry.

My 1060 wants the same thing but this ain't fitting in my tiny caseFrown

There are 2 fan versions, I'd expect them to drop down in the next couple weeks. I upgraded my son's 1070 to a 6600 and he was pretty floored.

I'm trying to decide between a 5700XT used for 150 off or this, which would you get if you were picking today?

I have an older GTX 970 that's been running fine. Looking to pull the trigger and upgrade still. Is this a big improvement?

Thanks!

Would get a new less power hungry rx 6600 unless money is that big an issue for your build. I got a new Rx 6600 over the used market for $225 after tax and this is much cheaper

i have the 6650 xt from gigabyte...card performs well, but amd drivers are just trash. I recently tried bare driver and gigabyte control center to manage the fan and am keeping my fingers crossed.

Note guys that Nvidia just dropped prices on the 3000 cards. I'm an AMD guy and 6600 > 3060 but some may disagree
