Another good deal on an amazing ac unit. Just wish their "regular shaped" model would go on sale (bc that model does heat pump as well, where this u-shaped model does not)

Do these still shake your whole house down when the compressor kicks in for a few mins? Because that was annoying as hell

You're correct, and it's the same deal now. Shouldn't have been marked as expired. I purchased two last week and they arrived in two days.

If you HAVE COSTCO, GO TO COSTCO.

The box is very thin and poorly padded. My unit did not survive shipping. busted, leaked compressor oil from inside.

Returned to costco, bought instore for $320.

Works great, super quiet.

The compressor doesn't shake loudly in these units, but the external fan will shake the unit when it revs up initially from stop, that fan stays on, so you'll almost never hear it shake again..

Just fyi home Depot has these at $399 in store. The manufacturer is offering the $80 savings so no matter where you buy the price should be $80 off.

Nope. I installed one from the Costco deal over the weekend. It's extremely quiet. No louder than a standard fan. Even in my "not a single thing is level including the window frames" ancient poorly built rental house, there is no rattle upon start up or when the compressor kicks in, I don't even notice if it running or not.

I already had several others installed; these were replacements for older ACs. I think they're fantastic, except for the finicky installation.
