I got the exact same combo from Newegg. and encountered the same sleep issue. You have to go to the BIOS and enable wake up timers for USB, mouse and keyboard first for the resume from sleep to work using keyboard or mouse.

They had a 12700K + Asus TUF Z690Plus Wifi (D4 or D5) combo down to $324 a little bit after BF, and you could get it to $299 with either a New Customer or Build Showcase coupon. I bought it at $349 - $25 Build Showcase coupon at BF and they price-matched it to $324 - $25 a couple of weeks later.
The NewEgg deal is solid, especially for those not near a Micro Center and/or those that want to go DDR5. I have a feeling we'll be seeing more and more 12th-gen deals popping up over the next 3-4 months and start seeing some 13th-gen deals begin to trickle out (probably K-SKUs and at Micro Center first) around Nov/Dec if a Rocket Lake Refresh is released (whether they call it 14th-gen or just update 13th-gen SKUs).
Agreed... I plan on building an AM4/X570 build around fall, sometime around the arrival of BF. Wanna surprise my nephews w/ a gaming PC of their very own for Xmas.
I bought this combo with the Corsair RAM kit last week. This is a long shot but if anyone has this board and Windows 11 I have a question. Will your mouse and keyboard wake the PC from sleep?
To be clear I'm not blaming the board. I'm trying to figure out of it's the board or one of its settings, a Windows 11 issue, my old Logitech G710 keyboard and old Logitech Gaming Software or something else causing the issue. Everything worked fine with Window 10 pro and my 10700K build.
Turn on "Wake up from USB" option in the bios. It should be under Advanced Settings. Don't have this board so don't know the exact menu path

Thanks. I though I checked the BIOS settings but I'll have another look. The BIOS menus are kinda of clunky for me to navigate so I may have missed that setting.

From MSI website FAQ:
"Press delete when the system boots up to enter BIOS. Find "Resume by USB Device" under Settings/Advanced/Wake Up Event Setup and enable it. Press F10 to save the BIOS setting changes and exit BIOS."
I'm building a new computer for the first time in a long time and boy has lots changed. I'm running off a 5 YO dell xps laptop that was my works, at one point in time.
My current CPU is rated @ 7,000 (From CPU benchmarks) whereas this one is rated 35,000. I welcome the extra processing power

i'll never buy asrock again after dealing with their mobos.
the msi mobo in this deal is trash too, pch (chipset) runs hotter than most boards, once that fails the mobo is trash.

Thanks for the reply. Looking for recommendations then. I'm not a gamer, just doing some light 4k video editing (drone and go pro) and general computer tasks.

I'd probably be inclined to get the NewEgg deal since I already have DDR4 RAM and Microcenter is 2 hours total drive time away.
Thanks though (both OP and others) for posting both deals.
