Good luck finding a Hyundai dealership that isn't marking up 7.5k to negate the credit. Tried to buy one last year and they marked up anywhere from 2k minimum to 8k with add-ons.

Hyundai actually found the issue, it was an app that sent a bunch of information/stayed connected when the car is off. Teslas have a worse issue which is phantom drain, since the car stays connected for connectivity/app usage it drains the main drive battery. Ends up making the car horribly inefficient. People come back to their cars with way less drivable range.

You cannot buyout Tesla leases, not that you would want to after you experience the shoddy workmanship of those things.

not sure why this is a deal with 5k drive-offs
The 5k upfront is just to make this "advertised offer" attractive to the average consumer by making it appear as a low $332 monthly when the effective payment is much higher.

Hyundai/Kia can get F'ed. Between the mass lack of immobilizers and engine failures, they've become the least desirable auto-manufacturer to me. They may be trying to escape their past with facelifts and logo changes (wow engine immobilizer is now standard on every 2021+ model, welcome to the 2000's Kia) but it's no longer a brand I'd trust or consider.

Exactly, this is a lukewarm lease deal at best. The huge down payment is masking a terrible residual value (58% for 10k miles/year) and pretty average 6.5% interest rate. Effective payment is $472 per month + sales tax.

Got a quote today. SEL. 52.8k sticker. 43.8k sale price. Even with the decent price, the lease was still $578/mo on 10k miles w 5k down (not that I would do 5k but for comparison to the deal posted here). They're jamming you on the MF which is close to 7%. Residuals were ok low to mid 50%.
Seems high with the 5k down, so they are for sure marking up the MF by at least 40 basis points.

I know this feeling, I ordered a Sonata hybrid last year it was supposed to be 35k when it arrived the dealership wanted 52k I was expecting taxes, but the dealer markup was ridiculous.

I am waiting for another really cheap lease to come around like the 2017 Honda Clarity. Yes, the range was short at only 90 miles but it was more than enough to get to work and back. The out of pocket drive off cost was a few hundred dollars and monthly lease was $199/mo for 36 months. I recall either there was unlimited mileage or 15k/yr and we did put around 45,000 miles when we returned the lease. And after the CA state and SCE rebate, the total cost to lease this car was around $130/mo. So anyone who's shelling out $5000 plus $399/mo + tax to lease this car is a half-fool.

5k off.
Is that before the $7500 tax credit? I've seen dealers dealers often have some fine print that they keep all incentives.

It'd be the Secret Service, not the FBI, on matters of fake currency.

The "5k off" is the $5,000 HMA Retail Bonus Cash.
So they are selling the car at MSRP.

Yet I am in one who is actually leasing a Hyundai and currently have $4500+ in equity (as of last month. Didn't check this month) You see their rules and abide by them. I see their rules, and I look at everybody else's rules, then I use them all to my advantage so I can get the best deal possible. If you look at my original comment, I suggested NOT going with HMF. But go ahead. Your way is more expensive. I'm not buying an Ioniq anyway, so could care less about it. It's a good deal if done right and you actually want one (nothing wrong with an Ioniq), but not currently interested in one.
So in other wards, you are waving your hands around to intentionally hide moving the goal posts to cover up your original incorrect statement.

Agree. I hate buying cars other than Tesla. I hate the fact that I negotiated the whole day and found out my neighbor got it cheaper.
So.. you wished your neighbor paid more than you?

How Long Did it Take You? The trip of Texas to Cali then Cali to Texas took me 36 hours my first time as I took power naps and wanted to get back home to pick up my dogs.

What Range do you have on a full charge? This all depends on your driving style and driving mode (eco, normal, sport) and roads. But for me city in eco i easily get 280 range (AWD is estimated for 262) and highway with my speed limit driving and sometimes doing 5 above in interstate which is 80-85 mph i calculated 205. Don't trust any odometers in any ev on your range btw, they can't account for a lot of shit, do it by actual distance traveled and you will see the true range.

How many times did you charge in 24 hours? On the trip i charged a total of 11 times one way as i always just topped off to 80% and never went past that (past 80% all EVs slow down charging by a lot to not DMG batteries). At home? Got a wall charger and regular charger but once twice a week as i wfh. The regular chargers for a 120v outlet well charge your car overnight only about 7%. It's slow and will take about 72 hours from 0%.

How many miles was full trip? 1478 miles to Whittier, CA. One way so about 3k miles total back to Texas
Thanks and reps for replying and for your honesty.

You charged 11 times to travel 1,500 miles which works out to 137 miles a charge.

In a conventional vehicle I would have fueled up five times with a conservative est. of a 300 mile range.

I can fill-up a conventional vehicle in 10 min. What was your time spent on a typical charge-up to 80% ?
