What a dumb design. Wonder how many people just give up and go away because they can't find the button to buy?

make sure its the silver color option
so pretty much you can not have your ipad in a case if you want to connect to this HUB directly.

will it work for Windows based laptops which need additional ports?

It's type c but why would you get this for a laptop. Get one with a wire, this one would be flush with the end of the laptop and potentially cover other ports.
Plus with a wired hub you can "hide it" behind your laptop or move it to the edge of the desk. And it's easier to plug in and out.
They have a different model (Anker 547) that uses both USB-C ports on MacBooks that offers similar functionality. I'd recommend going with that one since it's more stable when plugged in to the two ports.
That makes sense.
By "stable" do you mean like physically it is less prone to movement? Or do you mean that it is a more stable digital connection? Thanks for your reply!

Sorry, I should have clarified. More stable as in less prone to wiggle, especially if you pick the MacBook up to move it while the dock is plugged in.
