No free memory upgrade to 512gb. With regular offer at 512GB free upgrade, it is $427 with education discount comparing to $449, hence not good deal for 512GB version. But good deal for 256GB.

The biggest upgrade is the 8gen2. I own both s22u and s23u, the s22u is constantly a hot potato while s23u is at most warm under heavy load. Other than the processor, the battery life is a huge improvement. At $200 difference probally it makes sense to upgrade but not over that.

They ship you your new phone with packing material. Some soft sheeting and a lot of cardboard that is long, shredded like a pair of 80s jeans, rolled up on the new phone. A fedex return label will be inside. You will need to tape it to the outside of the box, on top of the original label (or remove the original label and apply new one).


Get your new phone up and running first. Look for any issues for a week.


Do a factory reset on your old phone. take a picture of the screen with your new phone to show no issues of front and back while on. In case Samsung employee tries to pull a fast one on you.


Turn your old phone off and wrap it up. You can dop off at any Fedex drop off location or find a Dollar General store. They will scan the package and send a receipt notice via text to your phone. Samsung will receive a couple business days later and let you know they receive. Few more days until they get a chance to review and ok the trade-in.

I got 512 gb S23 Ultra for 650$ without trade in with Google fi deal.
This deal isn't worth it.
Economy is going to become bad and better deals will come in couple months.

I wish there was more trade-in value for the S22+. I would like to pick up the 23 ultra but $500 out of pocket is a bit much

Main reason I'm trading my s22 is I expect trade in for s24 to be 200 less than s23 will be at launch. So it's essentially a 50 upgrade to the 23 now

The EDU/EPP being ineligible, I get it. But the same thing happened in my non EDU account too

If the deal was sweeter for the 512GB version I'd consider it. I upgraded from a Note 9 to the S22 Ultra and got the higher storage since the Micro SD card is dead and gone. At this point I don't think I can go under 512gb with the amount of apps and photos I have.

With all that being said, I know the new processor is better and battery life is supposedly improved. But I still think the S22U and S23U are too similar and I've been happy with the S22U so far.

The design is about the same... Feature set is identical, if not within striking distance. This is like going from iphone 12 to 13, rather than 14. Minor upgrade.

Based on the Flip 5's new design I suspect the S24/5 will bring better changes.
