Are these really that unreliable? Have one NIB. Maybe I will just sell it.

Haven't had issues with mine although it definitely needs a hardware update as the interface seems laggy so yeah I would wait for the 2nd gen.

25% off if you trade in a cheap device. I use mine to display camera feeds, works and looks great.

I have a cheap Fire tablet taped to my kitchen wall for recipes, music, and videos. It does pretty much everything this does at a fraction of the price.

I really didn't use it when I got this. It was just really limited at what it can do but ever since it upgraded to fire tv, it gets used whenever there's cooking done

One problem is that since a december update, you can't sideload apps any longer.

Tinycam is available, but the app author has gone dark and not updated it in a little while. Bad news all around.

I wouldn't invest in this for nearly 200 dollars given the current state. Maybe 100.

I should wait for a little longer untill Prime day in July.
Most likely like last few years, Amazon have stack 25% trade in coupon with price cut. I was able to get this around $100 ~ $110 plus tax with trade in cheap Echo device (bought from Wood for $5)

How did you end up doing that? Is there an app for the cameras you are using? I use Wyze.

I use Blue Iris for my cameras. I just use the built in browser from Fire TV and go to my local URL. I'm sure you could use the wyze app too if it's available on fire tv.
