Additional information from merchant page:
This SM-G998U Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G is 100% functional in Good condition, item will include scratches and dents on the front, back, and corners of the product. It does NOT come in its original packaging but will include a generic UL certified cable.
I was on my way to Kroger to buy an eBay gift card before I thought to verify if this phone has a MicroSD slot. Unfortunately, it does not. And unfortunately, I'm part of the minority that uses a lot of storage, or at least is used to using a lot of storage.
FYI: $420 TRADE-IN VALUE ON THIS PHONE TOWARDS AN S23 ULTRA THROUGH SAMSUNG RIGHT NOW.
Don't do this! Just got mine delivered and back glass is severely cracked. Fingerprints and dings all over, they didn't even care to give it a good wipe. screen protector by the previous owner is still on. I bought it when it was $325 now they increased it to $340. Pathetic customer service wanted proof and pictures from every angle before approving return. Sheer waste of time and effort!
For everyone, Green S23 Ultra is $1200. Subtract the $550 trade-in, then add the $325 S21 Ultra purchase, and the OOP for an S23 Ultra right now would be $975 + tax
Brand new flagship phone or not, that's too much money for me. But hopefully someday it won't be.

No. This phone was $1,200 when it came out a few years ago. It's not worth anywhere near that now. It's worth about what they're asking for it, if you actually get one in good condition. Even then, it's going to have an old battery.
Read that post more carefully. He wasn't talking about someone who got this deal, but someone who got an s23 ultra for $400. That's still a $1,000+ phone
Saw some discussion on how long Samsung will update their phones.
For the S21 and later phones, they will provide One UI and OS updates for 4 generations, and security updates for 5 years.
Per Android Police:
"...Samsung continues to lead in this space. In early 2022, the company announced it would offer four generations of One UI and Android OS upgrades and five years of security patches, starting with the Galaxy S21 series from 2021.
This policy helps cement the company's devices as some of the best Android phones. And while those major upgrades don't roll out on day one like they do with Google Pixel phones, Samsung routinely beats its rival to the punch on security updates, while continuing to speed up the time it takes to get new One UI versions to customers."
The article has a list of devices and the last updates they will receive, including for S & Z, phones tablets, watches, etc. Some uncertainty about the A series.
Which site is best to buy excellent used phone? Or refurbished? My husband has S9 old phone and want to upgrade for him. But I'm looking for under $400 unlocked. What phone is best for under $400?
I saw few good price on used S22 ultra at Amazon. Is amazon used phone in good condition?
The S9 is still a good phone.
If I were you, I would wait for amazon prime days - coming next month.
You want a Samsung refurbished phone, which means it will have all the updates, brand new battery, and in excellent condition with warranty.
Typically, they offer S20's, S21's, and just recently, a few S22's.
I got a S20FE for $210. The S21's were going for 260 to 310, but sold out very fast.
I'm holding out for a S20 Ultra.
Yes it was the S23 base model for $399 and 120 days of Fi service ($80)
After just cancelling my Fi service for the S23 Ultra deal I cannot seem to get back to the phone sale page, they just keep forcing me to my account to reactivate, ugh so irritating.
They could have ended the sale but when I checked about 10 days ago it was $399 with 120 days service. No bill credits, just instant discount. If its gone it will be back soon. Its been coming and going regularly.

WTF? That's a placeholder for Microsoft Word to show what the format of the document will look like. They didn't even go through the effort to put actual words in the fake reviews. Hard pass.
Pixel 6/6a (used)
Xiaomi Redmi note 12 (brand new and my favorite, if you haven't used Xiaomi give it a chance, you're gonna love it)
One plus 9 used
Galaxy s21 used
I would say get this if it were certified excellent condition, as it's a great phone with the same update cycle as the s22 ultra. Personally I can't justify buying any of the newer Samsung device because the price is inflated and theyre more or less same performance. I got a note 20 ultra that is basically the same thing but it has a Spen included/integrated and SD card storage. Both this and s21 ultra have a very average battery life, and the performance on the note 20 ultra is arguably better because the chip in this one is integrated so well that it doesn't get hot. The s21 however, feels extremely warm, I don't think it's as optimized as s20/note 20 ultra. S20 ultra is significantly cheaper than note 20 ultra/s21 ultra, has a better battery life than s21 ultra as well as note 20 ultra (see YouTube battery tests) and includes sd card support, but no S pen support if you don't care about that. You have to buy a spen and case if you want it on s21 ultra, idk why they didn't include it, removing features is another reason I can't justify newer samsungs. Basically same phone but you won't get new android versions past 13, if u care about that. Personally, I don't. I think the main advantage of a s23 ultra is the battery life (also os updates, brighter screen, cam does better in low-light), as battery life s absolutely incredible and what they shouldve done to begin with, but I can carry a power bank in my bag so, I can't really justify that upcharge.
Ditched Samsung as soon as they dropped SD card support and tried to sell MS one drive. If I have to deal with crappy fingerprint scanner no headphone jack and no microSD, 6 gb ram, poor battery and pay $1000 why not buy the cheapest iphone, the overall apple ecosystem is comparable to none. I love my Apple watch, airpods, ipad mini, Mac air, overall everything works flawless gets updates battery lasts longer and devices have much better resale value. Have been buying the pro version of iphone for last few years for $650-700 each year and setting the previous years for $600-650, so why not you can upgrade your phone every year with next to nothing!
Mixed feelings here well I do love the strategy of using an older flagship to save money... But the snapdragon 888 was when the Qualcomm stopped fabricating with TSM C and it was a very hot and throw on the inefficient chipset. This year only had 25 W charging, and no SD card. And s pen is not in device. The Note20 Ultra is probably the better phone but it's not gonna get Android 14. S23 Ultra is definitely a better phone but it'll be 3 years before it gets a discounted like this
