Correct me if I'm wrong, but the 5 lb bucket looks to be straight powder, whereas the OP are individual packets. I'm not complaining, just pointing it out in case someone missed it.

Open the link and you will see the package literally says "safe on colors" on it. It is indeed confusing that it's a "whitener" though.
It's a whitener only because of its cleaning power. Unlike bleach it doesn't actually change the color of anything, and its not going to whiten beyond the original white of the fabric. It's a laundry booster that works well in conjunction with soap.
For example if your white bed sheets tend to look off white after a while and ordinary detergent doesn't whiten them, this will without bleach.
Has anyone here used this product? Does it actually work better than bleach?
This is much safer for your clothes than chlorine bleach, which destroys dyes and fibers. This uses oxygen (like hydrogen peroxide) to clean and whiten very effectively. It may cause some colors to bleed and can't be used on wool or silk. Don't hesitate to use it on whites but test with colors. I prefer the powder: for white shirts with yellow sweat stains, add a big scoop to a bucket with hot water and soak 12-24 hours.

$11.17 for me divided by 80 ounces. Comes to about 14 cents per ounce. The OP deal is 25 cents per ounce.
