Like I said, I bought it around 2011 (actually January 2012, I checked). Valve has steadily added games to the pack throughout its history as they were released (L4D2, Portal 2, CSGO, Dota 2, etc.). There's always been a lag between a retail-price new release and subsequent inclusion in the discounted Complete Pack, but HLA is now more than 3 years old and I think it's time Valve got a move on.
Regardless, I'll reiterate my comment that this pack for this price is the steal of the century for anybody who still hasn't taken the dive. There are at least 8-9 games here with very active multiplayer and modding communities. I still make maps for CS1.6 as do hundreds or even thousands of other people. And then there's all the single-player content which needs no introduction.
Also, I don't know how Valve gets away with calling this the VALVE COMPLETE PACK when it's missing HL Alyx and potentially more. Still, an unbeatable deal for several games with insane replay value. I still play CS from 1999.
I bought it for this price a few months ago. It goes to this price pretty regularly. It's still a great price just for Portal 2 alone. I just played the Portal series for the first time a couple months ago and Portal 2 now one of my favorite games of all time.
Of course Half Life Alyx isn't on this list. It's the most expensive VR game ever made and was created to be a loss-leader to sell headsets. Plus, not everyone has a VR headset. It is an incredible game, though.
I just checked, and my total would be $1.64 for the few games I don't have (something like $3.50 if I bought them individually).

Sidenote - this might have been my first multiquote post under the current forum software. What an awful experience. I had to leave the current forum software because multiquote isn't a feature there and instead visit the forum thread in the old software. There I multiquoted the posts I wanted, then when I hit 'post reply' I was brought back into the current forum software again in order to write my responses. What is the point of this?
Valve's actual game releases have slowed dramatically in the last decade. Half-Life: Alyx being the only full-scale release since 2013's Dota 2, and we'll have CS2 soon. Meanwhile, 2003-2012 saw Day of Defeat, Condition Zero, CS:Source, Half Life 2, DoD Source, HL2E1, HL2E2, Portal, Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead, L4D2, Portal 2, and CSGO. They are definitely resting on their laurels as far as game development and publishing goes.
CSS is in there.

In any case, there's still cheaters. As long as they have steam marketable items earned by playing, there will always be cheaters. I switched to Hunt Showdown almost 2 years ago and haven't looked back.
