I am not a piano/keyboard expert, but I have seen others mention the CA49 is better, although. The YDP is also good, but supposedly you are paying for the brand as well.

Would this be overkill if I'm a beginner? I originally wanted a full-size weighted midi keyboard to use with ableton but then thought this would be great to play in general considering it comes with built-in speakers.

Yes, it is an overkill... Get something that can get you in, later if you develop to became a regular player you think in getting one of those. If you want something good to start, look at it around $200-$300. You will have midi port and speaker on those models too.

dependents on your purpose and piano journey plans. If you are certainly going to play it and proceed to intermediate or advanced level, nothing is overkill. Good piano like this help you develop your finger actions habits

No it's not overkill. It's best to start with a good quality piano. Yamahas are pretty reliable and do tend to have good resale value if you happen to change your mind later on. Keep in mind, you can get a good quality slab piano with onboard speakers, minus the particle board stand for about half this price, such as a Yamaha P125A or Kawai ES110. Consoles are usually not the best value unless it has some particular feature you really want. Built-in speakers are usually not the feature that make people choose a console. It's best to try them out somewhere if you can because the way a piano feels and sounds to each person is very subjective.
